Alzner is only 28 and is one of the best shut down defenceman in the NHL. Calgary desperately needs a top 4 defenceman and I think he would allow Brodie to engage more and not have to worry.

Alzner's style of play doesn't age that well. Also there are many better shut down Dman that are far better than Alzner.
