Sullivan refuses to adapt and gets out coached. The league has become a fast AND sandpaper league. Prime example, the NYR. They added the character players for their roster and look. Sullivan refuses to change and its shown in results.

Tbh, I do agree with this. He refuses to change anything, like last night, why put Angello in, Put Zohorna or even DOC. Like Zohorna and DOC would be the better fits than Angello. I do like Sully, but his coaching just doesn't fit this new style of play in the NHL.

Ok, so your complaining that Sully isnt changing anything when that's what hes been doing the past week or two. He put Carter with Geno, didnt work out so he stopped doing that. He took out Zahorna and tried to see if Angello worked, and it really didnt. What is he supposed to do when we have Sid, Zucker, Marino, and McGinn out in a game against a good team. Hes gotta shuffle things and see the depth we have. I don't blame him for the loss last night. Hes trying things to see if they work. You saw that game against MIN right? We saw that Geno, Zucker, Rakell line and what hes trying to do since Zucker is injured is trying to put players in that position to see if that line gets the same result. Rust, Rodrigues, Heinen. So you cant day hes not changing anything. Hes doing all he can with the lines. I expect WSH to be a lot different than last nights game. Crosby, Marino, and Zucker most likely all come back. McGinn probably not. So that extra spot you rotate Boyle, Zahorna, Hallander, and Angello and see who works the best. Imo none of them should play over Heinen and Rodrigues. Heinen played good with Blueger and kudos to Sully for trying that. So that worked. Anyways that's how I see it

What do you think hes been doing? He put in Friedman. He put in Angello. He said himself Pettersson has to up his game If he wants that spot because right now Friedman has that spot

The guy they should bring up is Jordy belleviere. Plays center and wing kills penalties and fights but does not take incessant penalties but Sullivan wants allvin small soft draft picks

Zohorna was sick and DOC is in WBS. The issue clearly isn't the 4th line that played 5 minutes.

Yah, the 4th line played 4 minutes with Crosby, Zucker and McGinn out. Those three replace that line and you have a full roster again. Also, it's not like the pens were outplayed. They played a very very good game and just couldn't beat Igor. They have done a great job generating shots down low and and in scoring areas. Just need a little puck luck, while also being more aggressive on the forecheck. They can't let NYR just exit the D zone cleanly like they allowed last night. Someone has to be in the D's face.

I agree 100%. Phenomenal coach, but his vision dosen't fit with how the team will have to change going forward. We can loose the first 3 games in a series to the Rangers and he would play the 4th the exact same way. It's too late in the season to be having the structural flaws we had last night, and we are not a fast enough team for his system. I think he needs to allow more toughness as well. Reaves, Cole, were run out of town not being played. He also keeps saying how great were playing, last night included, but it was an awful game. It's just the cycle of life for coaches in the NHL, even the best of the best need changes of scenery after a few years. It's not like the NFL where you could have the same coach for 20 years. The game adapts, team needs adapt, and thats when it's time to make the switch.

Maybe the reason we haven't had a healthy roster is in part due to his refusal to adapt the system or allow for us to become a more physical team. I get he's player tougher guys, but he needs to add it to our identity. We don't really have any guys that will deter the other teams from taking liberties on us. Speed and physicality is the way the NHL is trending. We need younger, faster, tougher players, and if we loose first round a coaching change.
