Tear Down For Bedard in 25

Description
Extension would be in place with JT and L.A. And Brock with NSH.

It may cost a bit more for Forsberg, if it does, I might go after Gaudreau at that bigger number instead. Either way assume a big number for a big player but under 10 mil. Still a rebuild with the lack of depth.

Even with an extension in place, I think that is entirely too much for LA to be paying up. And RD is the last place they need to be adding any extra players/prospects, so Woo is entirely unnecessary in this trade.

If you want bedard why would you sign a guy on pace for 100 points this year

Bedard is a 2023 pick. So why not strip down current roster and stockpile 2023 1sts?

I think avoiding Byfield and Kaliev does a lot for allowing a good package coming to Van.

The 2022 draft picks can be assets to move in 23. The teams we're picking up 1sts from are not gonna be lottery picks in 23 anyway.

Take out Chromiak, Woo, and a 2nd and I'd do it tbh (As long as JT comes with a fair extension)

No one is gonna trade lottery picks in 23. Plan is to gain assets and be up for that lottery pick. Then build up and be reasonable for 2025.

Certainly plausible. I've been watching Chromiak a bit so I'm trying to get a steal.

And a steal he will be, just like Kaliyev. I think most Kings fans problem with this trade would be that it pretty much severs the ability to go after a dynamic young LD which you could argue we need that more than a guy like JT(I disagree, but that's just me) Turcotte or Vilardi would be the major starting piece in a trade like that. We can afford to trade one of them, but not both IMO.

Not close to enough for Garland, and I wouldn’t take that Boeser trade either

To me, that's wishful thinking from you. Hockey is a business and is not built on just good-will. Value is value regardless of untouchable prospects that are avoided.

The beauty of the Kings farm system is the Kings have other highly thought of prospects. Just because Byfield and Kaliyev aren't mentioned, Blake doesn't have only Chromiak, Vilardi, and Kupari left as trade chips, not to mention the 2022 1st round pick.

And where I'm coming from is that I think the equivalent of 3 first round picks (Vilardi, Kupari, and the 2022 1st) and a steal of a pick (Chromiak) is way too expensive of a price to pay for JT Miller. Especially considering the fact that the winger position is one of the few weaker spots of the Kings farm system.

I agree that one of Vilardi/Turcotte and the 2022 1st would be the centerpieces of a trade. But the other pieces would need to come out of the Kings positions of strength. So RD and lower tier centers in the organizations pool. Raki's post https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3180362 is a little more in line with something that I would expect. Total value of two 1sts and two 2nds. Vilardi and Turcotte are relatively interchangeable in that scenario.

I never said anything about good will. Think from the Kings side.

GM walks into a press conference with JT and he gets to say it didn't cost him his best assets? The grin would be palpable.

When I have both sides telling me they don't like a trade, that means it's good.

I would agree that I'm selling low on Garland but he's played bad and this isn't a plan to sit on guys. Keep the core, give the fans a new player to be excited about, but shred the team and make sure they're in the lottery picture.

Brock's new contract after a medium season isn't going to help his value. Letting another team have that problem isn't an afterthought in this deal.
