I was just about to say the same thing… why sign Statsny? I just don’t like blocking our young guys from making that jump we would just be shouting ourselves in the foot. Also gonna need Murray to be the rotational guy w/ Asplund in the lineup

Asplund doesn't need to rotate with anyone.

Just an amazing coincidence that any line he is on starts producing and stops bleeding goals against.

Patience, theirs still work to be done. JJ still has room to develop, and the kids on the NHL roster still have much to learn. A vet with deep roots in the league can be invaluable. Peterka is first call up, obv

Replace Casey and Artuu with Peterka and it’s a deal. Can’t see Guerin wanting anything to do with either of those guys.

I didn’t say for Asplund to rotate? I said Murray to rotate. Asplund in the lineup.

Reading back my punctuation was flawed I apologize above is what I’m saying. Somebody gets injured Murray can step in otherwise he’s in the press box or Rochester

JJ is a PPG player in the AHL this year and almost made the team out of camp coming into this season, I just don’t see a great reason to keep him down. Sure he’s got room to grow, but IMO he’s best suited to develop in the NHL…

I think VGK makes the playoffs and goes far again this year, but you're right, it could be a mid 1st round pick.

Anyway, trade happen this summer, they'll know what that pick is by then.

I’m just being honest with you, that offer is getting beat 9 times out of 10. A Fiala trade won’t have any existing contracts involved in it. The return will likely be a 1st and a prospect.

Hes -12 despite being a ppg player, that may not be an end all be all stat, but theirs clearly room to grow in his own end. The Sabres have plenty of injuries annually, he'll get time

VGK is likely 8th seed at best meaning they would have to beat the Avs to advance at all. Just can't see that happening

U talk about Asplund like he’s an all-star
He’s a decent player, but if we bring back Hinostroza then he’s likely fighting for playing time

Agreed
Peterka in the AHL to start will annoy the fans who think he’s ready, but it’s not the end of the world
He will get plenty of callup time
And if he performs well, he won’t come out of the lineup

Trading Johnson for Bear is a terrible mistake. No interest in Bear. No interest in moving Johnson. Fiala is not an 8 million dollar player. We wouldn't be retaining on a 2.5 million Mitts. Why is Asplund on IR? You paid Bryson over 2 mil for 3 years to be a 7th D man?
