That would cost Alex Turcotte and Kaliyev. HABS are not giving the #1 pick for nothing. You will need to pony up.

You can just have our future 40 goal scorer for a bag of pucks actually...

Woooosshhhh. My point is that the Kings aren't giving up Kaliyev. Period.

Especially not for a perennially injured player on a ridiculous contract for the next 5 years. This trade proposal borders on troll levels.

I would still decline that. Kaliyev will have 15+ goals by seasons end, all on the 4th line. He is going to be a 40+ goal scorer very soon.

I was being very sarcastic. As I said above, this trade borders on troll levels, so I responded in kind.

We gave you a 25 goals scorer with Danault for nothing. LOL

Like Chiarot, Lehkonen and Kulak Montreal players worth nothing for all other teams fans. Every NHL analysts say that Anderson’s value is high.

Do you think that Kupari would be more realistic.

The trade I’m going to choose to pick on here is the NYR deal. I happen to like Evans a lot, he’s fast, plays hard, great attitude, kills penalties and as a former 7th rounder is an awesome underdog story.

I just don’t see why the Habs would give up a guy like that for Kravstov. There’s questions about his attitude and there’s questions surrounding if he’ll even be able to leave Russia come next season.

I don't think the Kings can commit that much money and term to someone that has only hit 20 goals once in his career. I'd love Anderson at $4M. At $5.5M, I don't think the Kings are interested.

In the last 6 years, Anderson has had 17, 19, 27, 17 and 16 goals (one season was almost entirely wasted due to injury). It's entirely possible that rookie Arthur Kaliyev will equal or exceed 4 of those numbers. He has two more years on his ELC and he'll be under team control for 6 more years. Why would we even consider that exchange? Kaliyev is almost pure upside and it's unlikely Anderson will ever reach his most productive season again. Finally, it's stupid to exchange one RW for another. The object of making trades is to add at a position, not upgrade at it, and that's accepting the absurd idea that Anderson is an upgrade on Kaliyev.

If you're looking for a winger to exchange for Anderson, we'd give you Lias Andersson and add Sean Walker, so you don't have Savard and rookies playing RD. Your defense was atrocious enough this season.

If Anderson is worth that, then he must be good; if he's that good, why would you be trading him?

He isn't, but we need a veteran presence, he compliments Suzuki and caufield, and he's not bad. I'm looking at the equivalent of 1st + 1st + 2nd. Katie + Clarke is fair

It isn't in the universe of fair. Los Angeles loses on Kaliyev for Anderson 1-for-1, for the reasons I set forth in my earlier comment. Even you should be persuaded by those facts.

Kaliev is lazy. I much rather Anderson thank you very much. I never said la should do kaliyev + Clarke, but that's what the offer has lt be for habs to move him.

If we pick Shane Wright and with the centers we have already and in the minors, I think Evans could get us a good talented winger to play with Suzuki. I think that Kravstov problem was he could not be on the top 6 in NYR while in MTL he could. I feel we could see his talent explode. I might be wrong. Also Evans history of injuries scares me.

Because it is a good fit for both. LA gets a big grit and speedy guy that can score to complement their talented players (Brown is retiring) while we get some talent to add goals the we are missing in our team. Farrel is a good prospect that balance the trade IMO. I think it is not that bad if you think about it.

Ah, now I see the problem -- you haven't seen Kaliyev play lately. He's a big-bodied, high-energy, ferocious forechecker with a great shot who is an automatic member of the number 2 power-play unit. Which isn't saying much, of course, since our power play is dreadful. But he's close to the best thing about it.

Yeah, I've thought about it and it isn't close. Farrell doesn't balance anything because Carl Grundstrom and Sam Fa-gem-o are better LW prospects already in the system and Farrell isn't even signed yet. For the reasons set forth in Comment #12, Kaliyev for Anderson straight up would be a loss for Los Angeles. Kaliyev is younger and as a rookie, is already better defensively than Anderson; he's also almost as productive in his first year at one-sixth the cost and will only get better as he gets older, while Anderson has pretty much reached his peak and can only be expected to get worse as he gets older.
