    1. This is ACGM, not Detroit's front office forums. Wings fans have collectivized around the idea that Petry shouldn't be traded to Detroit and we're spewing our opinion, not whatever the front office thinks on the matter. We don't know what's inside Yzerman's head, and while we can guess, it doesn't mean much when the opinion ultimately comes down to ourselves.
    2. I honestly don't give a single ounce of legitimacy to any rumor that doesn't come directly from an insider's mouth. Every player has been connected to every franchise at some point, and it doesn't mean teams are actually planning on trading for them.

    1. TBH, I am NOT saying that Detroit should be interested or that any of these ACGM's are fair value. All I am saying is there are rumors out there that the Wings management is interested and as long as those rumors are out there fans will post these ACGM's. BTW if you look at my ACGM's I don't think I have a single one involving Petry to Detroit LOL.

    2. Eric Engels is a pretty legitimate source since he is the beat writer for the Habs. I understand that those sites aren't usually reliable but they specifically list Engels as their source. Beyond that all I can say is I hope Petry is happy to stay in Montreal but if not he will fetch decent value in the summer, probably not from the Wings but from someone.

Yes, just keep him, that's what both sides want and therefore it makes the most sense.

Not a single one of those come from a reputable source... Come on now...

    Literally the line:
The Stars may not be alone in their interest in Petry, with the Detroit Red Wings and Philadelphia Flyers believed to have an interest.

How much more click-baity could that be?!? Not a single source or reference, on a clickbait site itself... Give me a break...

Most list Engels as the source, how much more reputable do you want?! In fact they even post his tweet about the Wings being interested at 5 Mil but Montreal is not interested in retaining.

yeah it just means that they are using it to get to the cap floor which means more reasons for them to suck again next year so i can see fan frustration from the move

As a habs fan im saying this as genuinely as possible. I want to keep him, i have no issue with his contract. he wants to move so im happy to oblige. this to me is an off year which it has been for most habs players. hes also not a Number 1 defenseman so he is misused in MTL. he would fit great as a 2 or 3 D

I have nothing against Petry as a player and if Detroit had had a need for a RD he could have been the answer. The fact though is that Detroit don't need a RD and that makes all these offers of Petry to Detroit rather irritating.

I understand that, it's like every trade with Montreal including a LHD prospect, like we already have like 7-10 LD prospects we don't need anymore lol

LOL, nope. There are better UFA goalies available this summer and Skinner is already under contract for next year, so there's no reason for anyone to spend a 2nd on Jake Allen.

Even if Skinner is who your starter is next year (which he is not) you need a tandem. ALlen at 2.8M is the best youll get capwise. dont be crazy

Holby won't cost a 2nd, Reimer likely won't either. Fleury, Campbell, Varlamov, Vanecek, etc - all are better goalies. Nobody will be beating down Montreal's door for Allen.

Not bad but he's more or less out of luck here now. Edvinsson and Johansson are passing him and McIsaac only have one more year of waiver exemption left and is the first of our prospects to lose that protection. If Detroit shores up their LD by getting a good player with a few years term on his contract (like Marcus Pettersson) then I can't see him making the team. I've been trying to trade him for a centre prospect with a year or two of waiver protection left (I really like Alex Steeves) from teams that have a need for LD prospects.

Mike Hoffman is a terrible offensive play driver, a useless defensive player, and an all round bad dude. The only reasons teams put up with him was because of his excellent finishing ability. He's 32 and he's already losing the only thing that made him worthwhile, I don't see why anyone would touch him.

Ottawa wants no part of Hoffman at all, bad blood, clogs up the line up for the younger players.

thats fantastic, were not talking about your lunchtime splurging on a big mac combo instead of a double cheese burger...The oilers have 17M in cap space next year with 8 roster spots to fill.
I also will objectively say you cant find a better tandem goalie at that price tag at free agency or through trade. take issue with the price tag i put to aquire him, but Jake Allen is one of the best value deals in the league

I disagree, but even if you are correct, why F up that value by including Edmundson in the deal?
