Disclaimer: Jets are my second team and PLD is my favourite player outside of Detroit. But because I live in Atlantic Canada and they’re my second team I can only loosely follow them.

Time will tell if the jets retool or decide to rebuild from the ground up - PLD is an absolutely fantastic 2C for them at the moment. If it’s just a retool they will definitely keep him, but if they go full rebuild then you’re looking at a very valuable piece.

What is PLD worth on the trade market (with no contract signed but his rfa status?)

I don’t disagree but I also don’t think PLD is “untouchable” so to speak if someone comes in with the right offer. What that offer is I don’t know.

My view on the jets is they need defense which they’ve been missing since Bjugstad left. There has been a hole there since and they just haven’t been able to deal with it. I doubt the answer comes through FA which means it’s either draft or trade.

I agree. The pre-season predictions had the Jets in the top 3 in the central or at the very least a sure playoff team. They are too far in to this to do a rebuild without trying a re-tool first. Start with filling the coaching vacancy with a voice from the outside and fix the leadership core.

If Vegas was to acquire Dubois, I think it'd have to be a 1-on-1 swap between Dubois and Theodore. Or something like that. Not that Vegas would do it though.

Jets don't have explicit needs right now that moving Dubois would fill though.

As long as Dubois is willing to sign in WOG, he won’t be going anywhere.
Scheifele will be leaving before PLD…. Hopefully this offseason
