No it won’t. Marc Staal cost only a 2nd round pick when they got him from the Rangers, and he was making more money with one year left. So a Lucic dump will cost the same.

Right now Staal is still a useful player, The same can't be said much about Lucic.

D. Lucic is at best a 4th line player
E. Lucic is NOT a Yzerman kind of guy, and Staal is
F. Lucic is a cancer with all the stupid things he has done over his career
