Really can’t see Wright not going at 1, he’s still a bit above his competition, definitely a smaller gap than before though, Lambert and Geekie that high are a bit of a reach, same with McGroarty imo.
your out of your mind for thinking wright wont go number one thats like saying Auston Matthews wont go number 1 back in 2016
Not a great example, the gap between Wright and say Cooley, Nemec, Savoie, or Slafkovsky has gotten increasingly small over the past few months. He will still most likely be taken first, but he is not legions ahead of his counterparts

I agree. Considering the scenario, NJ really doesn’t need another Center, could do a winger but really could use another defenseman to go with Luke Hughes. It is possible.
Now, I can’t see Slafkovsky getting past Columbus. Slafkovsky has Blue Jacket type player written all over him.

It would be more like saying, "Nolan Patrick won't go number 1 back in 2017"
Patrick and Wright have had similar trajectories in their draft years (and similar numbers in juniors)

And Wright is not projected as a top 1C.
Cooley is a good option cause he blends well with Holtz, but Nemec is a better option because of their need of RD.
