I see two problems with this trade:
1) Drouin at $5.5M cap hit is more of a liability than an asset. He hasn't played a full season since 2019, and he doesn't score much when he does play. The only thing he's got going for him is that he seems to produce in the playoffs. He only has one year left on his contract, which makes him less of a liability, but I don't see Boston being interested in him now. Maybe at next year's trade deadline if he's healthy. Montreal should hang onto him until then, because I think that'll be their best chance of getting something of value for him.
2) DeBrusk is signed for only 2 years, after which he can become a UFA. That makes him of little interest to a rebuilding team. To get maximum value for him, Boston will probably need to trade him to a team that at least expects to be in the playoffs.
