Can’t see the Sabres being interested in White
The only forward slot we might have open is the center on our “defensive line”
White just isn’t a fit for that

And with 3yrs left at almost $5mil per,
i think you’re gonna have to give up a 1st to get rid of him to any team

I figured with the Donny Granato connection there could be an interest from Buffalo. I’d assume Ottawa would be looking to retain salary, couldn’t find that option while making the trade though. That’s what I went off of.

With all due respect, Minnesota would just keep fiala. Connor brown is a free agent in 1 year like fiala

Ridly Greig. Our best forward prospect rn besides Pinto who really shouldn’t be a prospect . He was taken late 1st round in 2020

You can’t afford Fiala though that’s why he’s the most likely trade candidate.

Minnesota can qualify him and keep him for 1 year instead of taking on lesser value player in connor brown. Connor brown needs to get paid also like Fiala in 1year. Minnesota has ability to afford Fiala for 1year .

With all respect, I don’t think Minnesota is interested. Value wise it might be ok. But we would rather have one great asset than a couple of good ones.

I doubt it happens, you have 12M in cap space next year from the buyouts of Parise and Suter. There’s a lot of moves that are needed by Billy G.

Bills hands are tied with those buyouts. 12M coming your way next year.

He might get a very good return by selling Fiala at ~2.5 mil to a contender at the tdl.

His qualifying offer is 5.1M and he’s going to be demanding 6.5M + I’m assuming.

Buffalo isn’t giving up Fitzgerald at all, never mind for a 3rd liner who gets paid double what he’s worth.

Fitzy is a great 6-7th dman, but yes I will move him if he's a piece for a better RHD to play with Power/Dahlin or a significant forward upgrade. But for cap relief/bottom six deals, I'd much rather keep him off the table. He brings so much to the team and their chemistry when he's on the roster.

LOL, reading some of the comments from other ACGM's reveals why the Sabres have missed the playoffs for 10 years.
OTT 2022 2nd is currently 36th OA about 8 rounds below the Florida pick which Buffalo got for Reinhart.
I love Fitzgerald, but he is a 6th/7th RHD on nearly any team, including Buffalo.
White is about 0.5 pt/gm forward during his career.
I will respect your POV, but if White is OTT best defensive forward should he not be on the PK?
I make this trade as Buffalo would have 5 picks among the top 40 this year, White adds forward depth, another right hand shot, and helps them reach the floor until Power, Quinn, Peterka etc. ELC's expire.
Besides this is the pick that Murray gave up to get Lehner (just another one of his terrible trades).
