Description
Give the Canes about $9-10m in cap (depending if it goes up to $82.5) to fill out the left side of their forward group.

Some ideas;
Bringing back Nino
Think about re-signing Domi if he works out
Splash UFA move like Johnny Hockey, or Forsberg if they don’t re-sign.
Laine somehow?

I really doubt it goes to Necas + 4 more assets my friend. Either way, point is that the Canes could offer up assets required to make it work.

If Nino is willing to take a 4x3-3.5 mil deal, resign Nino, but if not Lorentz could be Nino’s replacement. Lorentz just needs to increase his physical play. Gaudreau might be too expensive with the cap space available, and he could get 10mil if he goes to UFA. Forsberg would be a perfect addition if NSH doesn’t resign him, and the Canes could offer up to maybe 8mil for him. Domi, with Trocheck and possibly Nino leaving, would need to be resigned, but would he be willing to resign at a massive discount on a 2-3 prove me bridge deal. If Columbus doesn’t qualify Laine, I could see the Canes pushing to sign him. He has had chemistry with Aho in the past, it could definitely be rekindled.

As for the Chychrun deal, if Necas is being included, I can’t see Carolina adding much more. Necas, Suzuki, Bokk, and a 2024 first and a 2023 3rd, that package is probably the most the Canes would offer.

Hampus Lindholm just got a first, two seconds, and a prospect. Ben Chiarot got a first, a prospect and a fourth. Arizona is selling high as a kite on Chych

At what price do Canes fans value Necas? I'm curious, as I'm surprised reading some of the comments here, but also the fact you'd be open to trading him (as discussed in a thread I made before the TDL, but also this one).

Necas + Suzuki + 1st (and other assets) seems like a lot. I'm a Coyotes fan, but like it a lot. I'd push for Morrow/Drury instead of Suzuki, but would probably settle on Suzuki in your proposal. How do Canes fans value Necas?

Necas is really good so that's where the big value in the trade comes from

Does Chychrun come with an eight year contract?

Let’s be real honest here…your comparable based on what Ben Chariot got are null and void the day after the deadline passed. Offseason/draft day trades do not usually look to what happened at the deadline for comparisons. It’s why Chychrun wasn’t moved.

I’d be willing to give Necas, a prospect (Suzuki based on what you said), and 2023 1st (with some sort of lottery protection) if you also have back some late picks in 2022 and 2023 for dart throws.

Do you really think you’re going to get a better offer than this? A top 6 NHL RFA age 23/24, a A-/B+ prospect and a 1st…

I will just leave that answer to not trading him in talks for Laine and Eichel. Ideally, Necas doesn’t get traded, but he has been having a down year this year, and while that could lead to a lower cap hit in extension talks, I would think Necas would want a bridge prove me deal, whereas the Canes would want a long term deal. Unfortunately for the Yotes, if the Canes were to trade for Chychrun, Morrow, Drury, and Jarvis would be off the table. I would say Necas would be as well, considering how much management adores him, but as it stands, the Canes have 3 RW fighting for top 6 minutes. Canes won’t deal Turbo, and Jarvis would be off the table as well, so Necas could be the odd man out.

As for swapping Suzuki out, I would swap him with Rees and remove the third to balance it out. I can’t see Suzuki or Bokk in the Canes long term plans, and while they were former first round picks, Suzuki I would value at a low first or high second, whereas Bokk would be lucky to draw a 4th, and that seems generous. Bokk would be more of a toss in than an actual piece, but who knows.
