Minnesota didn't trade for jacob to trade him in offseason. He will be a special restricted free agent with no rights. So Minnesota declines

Not worth a ton to you, maybe. I'm mostly certain the Sharks will keep Reimer and move Hill. Reimer has exceeded expectations and he's a leader for the Sharks.

Minnesota would be very wise to keep Middleton for sure.

going for theoretical, not actual. Just saying this would be a team that has a better chance at a playoff spot with cap space to move for rentals.

I understand why you'd want him. Elite upper crust moustaches like that aren't available often. When you can get a stache like that, you keep it. It's in the upper echelon of NHL moustaches right there with Parros.

Given that, there's better LD targets for Detroit than Middleton. Chychrun, Girard/Byram, Skjei, and maybe even Provorov are all possibilities. Could also go after Forsberg or Gaudreau this offseason with how much cap space the Wings have

yeah but I wanted to be somewhat realistic. I don't think Stevey goes for something big.

I like Middleton but he's not a top pair D to play with Seider.

The 70s porn duster definitely gives him more value.

Where's Zadina? You're not qualifying him? Why give up picks for Optimus Reim when you can sign a UFA like Husso or Holtby? Or trade for Georgiev and his Kazmir sweater with a Red dot? I also expect Edvinsson to make the team. Maybe Soderblom even. If Walman plays well he might be on the team as well. I'd still like to trade for a vet D like Pettersson or Martinez. Vinny Trochek is a possibility. But last I heard he wants to stay in Carolina. They're cheap though. I don't want Chiarot's of Fire. Even If he's running on a beach wearing a white t-shirt. I'm not writing off Juolevi either.

Then given that, I don't think Middleton is a realistic target at this point because I don't think Guerin views him as a rental. If he has good chemistry with Spurgeon and can play 19-20 minutes per night, he's perfect for us to re-sign for relatively cheap to get us through the $14M Suter/Parise dead money years. In other words, if he plays well for us there's no way we move him.
