I think the Devils were a little bit handcuffed.Buyers in a flat cap world like expiring deals, the only one of significance in NJ is Subban. Hard for anyone to fit that in at 9, heck even at 4.5, I don't think the interest would match NJ's asking price.


From the outside, I think the Devils need to figure out their goaltending. Is Blackwood still the guy? Looks like goaltending has really derailed the season. That can really damage a young team when they can't get a save.

Im not too upset at the quiet TDL based on the direction of the team and the pieces we had to offer

Not a Devils fan, so from an outside prospective I’d stay the course.

Looks like a lot of guys have been having good seasons. Hamilton was the big catch last year, and a full year of him will be beneficial no doubt. Hughes took a step this year. Bratt, Mercer have been great. Just the goaltending I’d be concerned about, but that could bounce back. The team is on the right track IMO

Great analysis from both of you. Any suggestions for goaltending? For me I'm find with keeping Blackwood but having a 1A/1B goalie. Few guys that come to mind are Samsonov, Vanacek, Fleury, or even just Daws

I’d run Blackwood and Bernier. If Bernier can’t rebound as he should, maybe a goalie trade will happen with another team that’s looking for a change up, but I’m not sure what Bernier’s injury is too
