If they are, Giordano is a really nice add. He's a legit top 4 defenseman who is a leader and has chemistry with Brodie. Blackwell seems like a solid 4th line centre. Lyubush was a really nice add and it got rid of Ritchie for them.

They didn't need a top 6 left wing.

But I fully agree not doing something with goaltending (I hope there's a last minute goaltending add, but that isn't likely) is a huge miss. Dubas' job potentially is in the hands of Jack Campbell.


They absolutely needed a top 6 LW if Keefe does not split up Matthews Marner, Tavares Nylander. If he does then fine.

But scoring has kept this team from advancing the past two postseasons. How to shutdown TOR, stop the top line.

I have faith that if the core 4 show up and Campbell regains his form they have a shot, but going up against FLA or TBL who all got significantly better doesn’t give me too much hope.

They got a 2nd for McBain who wouldn't sign so that's a major win.
Middleton for Kahkonen was a minor win
Fleury for a 2nd was a win, but it's not going to take them over the level. I still don't see them getting out of the first round.

I agree, I don't think they'll win a round if they have to play Florida or Tampa. But unless they were going to get someone like John Gibson or Semyon Varlomov, there weren't really any good goalies on the market so acquiring a defenseman made the most sense, and they got probably the best fit that was on the open market. And I know that you think they need a forward, but Toronto has one of the best offenses in the league, but a slightly below average defense/goaltending, so I'm not sure I agree.

I think Lou has done some good things since he joined the isles, but it's clear that he's loyal to a fault. After hearing his interview, im convinced he's going to do something stupid like trade Beauvillier which makes me believe the best thing for the isles in the short and long term is to have his plan go completely wrong next season AND the player he trades breaks out on a new team.

I don't think any team wants to play Florida or Tampa or Boston. Dream scenario is Toronto drops to the 1st wild card spot and Florida/Tampa/Boston beat Carolina for 1st in the east. Then we go through the metro. Let the atlantic kill each other

Yes. It's funny, but Toronto is honestly better off being in a wildcard spot than 3rd. That's when you know the divisions are uneven.
