Description
Better situation for him in EDM
Its a team friendly deal that put him in a position to succeed
It also means when he turns UFA at 29 he'll likely have multiple new career high totals
He'll be in a better position to ask for more if he wants it

Will be selling Petry,Savard,Drouin,Byron and Poehling
Will be acquiring RD in the Draft or trade for top 4 plus target UFA Chiarot in the summer for RD
He already said in his last interview if MTL called he's come back and in this scenario im Calling.
Chairot and Eddy the D leaders for a few years is ideal plus they bring size and protect their goalies

Less of a rebuild more of a retool coupled with heavy drafting and trading
so that when they're ready to come up Hoffman,Armia,Gally,Dvorak,Eddy,Allen, ext will all age out being moved or left unsigned.

Détails additionnels:
Smith for purpose of buying out this summer as extra incentive to let Savoie go. We're leaving Lavoie,Bougault or Holloway be and focusing on Savoie who's brother i think MTL will also end up drafting this year.

We're taking the 5'9 LW out of all the prospects
This seems reasonable given MTL preference to speed
EDM gets to keep all its big frenchman and Holloway

Détails additionnels:
Traded to EDM for their Considerations with the Lehkonen Trade
Hammond was 3-0 in his starts in MTL when he return to the NHL

He's day to day right now but should be back soon
He'll offer you Exactly what Smith did no more no less for a salary and term everyone can live with

Smith isnt bad
Just like Hammond he's a wild card
That said today despite many years out of the NHL
Hammond > Smith as he just looks physically ripped to Smith's more phil kessel like training regiment lol

MTL
  1. Choix de 5e ronde en 2022 (DAL)
Détails additionnels:
Plays LD/RD and good for up to 17 minutes reliably
After that Turnovers become an issue as does kulak being caught out of position. he's not built or trained to play 21-24+ like a Edmunston ,Petry or Romanov.

MTL like Nathan Beaulieu ,Mike Reilly and now Brett Kulak where he has hit a point of no Return. They were given 3-4 seasons to take a top 4 role permanently and did not.

Chiarot on the other hand came in from 3rd pair in the same position as those guys and took the top LD spot by force . In the end he averaged more ice time then Weber or Petry even as it was there for the taking especially with a Kulak playing top 4 or pretending to

Reliable 6th or 7th D man but thats it
MTL fans seem to be high on him saying he's Petry 2.0
But Petry did more in his season he was considered to have struggled in to start his career then Kulak in his prime
DAL
  1. Kulak, Brett
Détails additionnels:
To any team for anything
Harris is coming
Guhle is coming
Norlinder is Close
Struble is close(set to inherit Harris "C")
Trudeau is 20 and will likely turn Pro in Laval
Xhekaj is a 21 year old Junior player who almost made the roster this year due to his sheer size and physicality . He did so as a invite to camp out playing most of our NHL D head to head

The list keeps going on of LD in our system close to the NHL and those who are set to Replace them turning Pro

Its Eddy or Kulak not both

The Lehkonen trade isnt bad. I would say no to the first rnd pick typically, but the fact that they get to rid themselves of Smith helps.... still maaaaaybe not a first rnd.... not sure Lehkonen fits roster wise. Does he normally play LW or RW?? The oilers need guys on the right more than Left. Also a bit more grit would be nice. Just not sure Lehkonen would be the type of players the Oilers would look for in a winger if they are going to spend a first.

Savard to DAL for Faksa
Basically the same contracts
DAL has 6 Right handed shots
1 is buried in the AHL & 1 has requested a Trade

1 for 1
Both teams win
or atleast neither team loses

I'd say getting both a 1st and Savoie was a no before these trades started dropping
EDM is in a position they either gotta bolster their roster to keep up or call it selling off to those who will eliminate them
Lehkonen will get something like this based on Cap and not being a rental
My favorite would be Lehkonen to NSH

Lehkonen will be able to get more then 2.5m if he keeps up this scoring pace
Im suggesting he'll sign for 2.5 to play with Drisatl and Mcdavid who will elevate his offensive numbers even more
This in turn will give him a chance to get more money long term vs trying to get a 3-4 year deal with a 1m raise short term

He's not greedy and he has a compete level
If he thinks it helps EDM and therefore him get closer to a cup
He'll do it on a short term deal
