It’s gonna take a HUGE overpayment to trade him to a divisional rival, especially because it’s a team we’ve been fighting for a playoff spot this year

Yea I think so. Maybe a small add from LA. Thomas, Wagner or a 5th round pick.

If they make the playoffs (BIG IF after that Det game), they are first round fodder. Need to think longer term

I think the Canucks can do a bit better. Grans is a decent prospect but he's no sure thing.

I've been trading Boeser on these forums for years but I wonder if it's now a better idea to sign him to a long term reasonable extension. If he could be signed for in the 6M range I think that would have more value to the team than trading him for a mid 2nd and B-B+ prospect.

I think Boeser signs for something like $6.5 Xs 4

I think that it's fair but my esteemed colleague @Enrique may be right about an additional add.

Ya I could see something like that, fair deal for both sides. If there's no trade protection included, I would think that would increase his value if the team decides in the next few seasons that it's time to move on.

Canucks are not fighting the Kings for the playoffs, I can assure you that

There is no benefit to Boeser signing that deal, Money is lower then his QO and term is not enough for him to ignore his QO

At this point you’re right. The Canucks aren’t gonna make the playoffs but LA is a team they are gonna be fighting with for years to come. Divisional trades usually result in one team overpaying

in that aspect, true. but should NOT be a consideration.

Trade a player to whoever that provides the best return. PERIOD.

My point exactly. I’m simply saying that the Canucks should and most likely would be asking more from LA than most other teams. They have more leverage on them
