I think Canucks take the Pearson deal but we don’t need Dermott

I think Vancouver accepts that Pearson trade.

Leafs are in playoff run.....They don't weaken their team by deleting Kerfoot and Dermot for the unneeded Pearson.

Dermot is worth a fourth at most, he is not worth a third, he is not even consistently in the lineup now with the additions of Lybushkin, Sandin, Ljiligren and Holl.

Trading Kerfoot while his value is pretty high is a good idea in the offseason, but not now. Also Pearson isn’t very good, and I’d rather keep Kerfoot if you’re gonna replace him with a worse player who makes almost the same money

Fair my fear is just missing out on this hot market right now. Also I’m not super sold on making a playoff run this year due to up and down goalie tending as well as facing Tampa or Florida in the first round especially sine they loaded up.

I think the best route is not to buy (big) rentals and just stay out more or less. Get a guy with term and focus on being stacked for not just this year but next as well

Gee, why are Leafs fans so down on their team? It's like they have to have perfect scenario in everything to even have hope. Even the last two games, and it's not good enough. Maybe Matthews should traded. He didn't contribute at all in the last two wins.

I don't see why Kerfoot would be a significant addition to a team that has Kopitar, Danault and Byfield down the middle and Kempe, Iafallo and Moore at LW, plus other wings that they're trying to find playing time for (like Grundstrom, Andersson and possibly Turcotte).

I don't doubt that you might be able to get a later first for Kerfoot from someone, though.
