Replace Dermott with something that has value to us and maybe we consider taking Mrazek off your hands

Hawks are so bad at the moment a leaf puck would have value for the hawks

Says the fan of a team with a record breaking 5 first round exits and the highest cap in the league to show for it

This wouldn't be a good move for CHI. We already did this for TJ last year with TBL.

Second highest cap hit (Tampa is higher) 1st rnd exists suck, sure would be nice to play in the Central or Pacific where a 1st rnd opponent would even make the show in the east

LMAO you're a fool if you don't believe the central has been stronger at points in the last 5 years, and certainly the west in the last decade when the Hawks were dominant

At this exact moment St Louis isn't even in a playoff spot in the east let alone the Atlantic

Not true over the last 5 years. St. Louis, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville all have had tough teams

So you're talking about only this year then? Over the 5 years of first series playoff losses by the Leafs to say the central is dismal is just flat out wrong

I'll agree for the first 3 years of those 5 years, but not the last 2 years not even close

Last year it was a pandemic division and the Discover Central was arguably the toughest division whereas the canadian divison was pretty weak with the exception of the habs

2018-19

Top Central team was Nashville 100pts
Top Pacific team was Calgary 107
Leafs third in the Atlantic 100pts

2019-20

Top Central St.Louis 94pts
Top Pacific Vegas 86pts
Leafs third in the Atlantic 84pts
(First COVID season)

2020-21

Weird alignment for divisions hard to make an argument

And this season well it's clear as day.

Can't look at it that way due to interdivision play versus out of division play. If a team is in a bad division and throwing up a lot of points it doesn't mean they are as good as in a more equally weighted division where there's a lot of teams competing.

Your only saying that cause the hockey gods shone brightly on the Habs and they made it to the final

The All Canadian division wasnt all that weak, no weaker than any other division, but I'll say I hated that alignment I think we all did

The Atlantic is stacked there's no denying that. But in all honesty all divisions have their strong and there weak teams, getting out of the Atlantic is a nightmare we can all agree to that. It is the toughest division to win at the moment.

Evan as hawks fan as you appear to be, if you had a choice to play a team in the first rnd can you honestly tell me you'd prefer Tampa over Colorado? Florida I'm not sure on I think I'd rather take on Florida over St.Louis

Just so we're clear I do thoroughly enjoy our little debate banters, even if it started with me trolling.

LOL Canadian division was weak, certainly weaker then the central last year and not worth arguing honestly. When you have a division with multiple bottom feeding teams (nucks, ottawa, arguably calgary) in it and only divisional play it becomes an easy division and that was the canadian division. Leafs easily won that division yet they weren't going to get through Colorado, Vegas, Carolina, Florida, TB, Caps or Pit...maybe even boston.

I wouldn't want to play colorado and yes would rather play tampa. Colorado is, and by most experts, to be the front runner for the cup this year. I'd rather play St. Louis over Florida though. Colorado comes in waves of speed that I haven't seen in a team since the Hawks dominated with speed and aggressive forechecking and backchecking. They are unstoppable when they are healthy.
