Islanders don't have the horses for a Bertuzzi trade. You're giving up Wahlstrom & Raty to start, and that leaves you with almost nothing under 25 in the system. If they hadn't emptied so much from the cupboards over the past few years, I'd go for it, but at some point in the next few years they're going to need some guys on ELCs to play meaningful NHL games, and trading more futures for a guy with 1 more year left before he gets a big raise doesn't strike me as the best asset management.

This was taken out of context on twitter by someone who proposed a different trade based on advanced analytics and then applied it via math to what their perceived value is. Not 1 person on earth thinks isles would trade Dobson ++++ for bertuzzi.

3rd part bertuzzi isn't getting moved unless we get something similar like we did mantha. Top 6 younger forward, a first round pick and then a prospect or comparable pick. This is yzerman not Holland, he has 0 reason to move bertuzzi at this time whose signed for another season. If anyone wants him they are going to have to overpay. This is all taken out of context from a Dave pagnotta tweet stating that yzerman has told the league that everyone but Raymond and seider is available. This is funny considering yzerman never shows his hand or has any of his rumours ever become public like this. I'm pretty sure Larkin is on there untouchable list as well as cossa and Edvinsson. The Barzal trade was straight up confirmation bias. The guy used Barzal's analytics from this season to argue Barzal is a 3rd liner , but then when someone posted that he's been an elite center last season and the year before , the guy got defensive.
