Canes current LTIR relief available = $1,792,500
Bear included in deal creates additional $2,000,000
Total available is $3,792,500
Lindholm @ 50% retained = $2,602,778 (BUF)
Rakell double chopped down to 25% = $947,361 (ANA/BUF)
Total in = $3,550,139
Retention costs
ANA (Rakell 50% / $1,894,722) = 4th (SEA only got 7th for retaining $1M)
BUF (Lindholm 50% / $2,602,778 + Rakell 25% / $947,361) = $3,550,139 = 2nd + prospect (MTL got a 4th to retain $1.75m so this should be ample)
ANA gets 1st, 2nd, Bear + 2 prospect for Lindholm and Rakell

Lindholm (no retention) and Rakell (50% retained) to BUF
When a team trades a player, they have the option to retain a part of their salary (and cap hit). The team who retains the salary then pays the retained percentage of the salary, and also retains the percentage of the cap hit until the contract expires. The following requirements must be met to retain salary:
All teams are limited to a maximum of 3 retained salary contracts per season.
Ok so switch Buffalo and Anaheim for the 4th and 2nd + prospect retention. Are you saying Ducks turn down this offer?
Quoting: Salzy
I thought you could do 3

Not the entire package, the supposed ask (Different than what he gets more than likely) for Lindholm is a first a teams top prospect and "another good piece"
1st, Suzuki, Bear for Lindholm
Honka + 2 seconds for Rakell
Could drop the 4th and Hreschuk, and realistically drop a second to a lower pick (3/4)

Id take that
Don't think a team's top prospect works well as a description since those vary. And most "real" Top prospect won't be added. I think that from the Canes, a 1st and Suzuki would be enough for Lindholm (Canes would add a 4th or something for the retention). Don't think Rakell will get that much, maybe a single 1st with 50% retention or a 2nd + a prospect (not Honka).

Seravalli said this morning we are looking for "a first a teams best prospect and another good piece"
Make sure you click on hour 3, He starts talking about the Ducks at 2 minutes in
The quote in question comes up at 8 minutes
I'd love to return but again, doubt it. But I do think Lindholm gets moved considering what's been said by multiple insiders and Ducks reporters (by that I mean that the extension talks seem to have stopped). I'm glad we'll have an answer in a few days since neither Rakell nor Lindholm will just walk in FA.

If I had to guess he gets sightly more than Chariot
Something in the ballpark of a 1st, a 3rd and a teams 2nd-4th prospect
seeing Chariot got a first a 4th and FLA (roughly) 5th best prospect
The ranking of the prospect would be vastly different for each team depending on the strength of the prospect pool

I'd go further -- I'd take a first, a second, and Suzuki, Bear and Honka for Hampus and Rickard with 50% retention on both.
