Definitely a very bad trade for florida. That said i think the deadline market is weird. The floor is lower than it should be, as is the ceiling.

You are playing Tampa in the first round, are you really just asking for a first round exit? Gio would be an excellent addition to this team

I would rather keep the picks and prospects

Even with any addition, the Leafs won't be able beat Tampa's defense to then beating Vasilevskiy

Giordano will be cheaper though. He comes with a biggee cap and recency bias gives Chiarot more market value because his playoff performances

Also Darren Dreger said on Overdrive that he would't be surprised if the Leafs don't make any moves

Vasilevsky is the monster they need to slay. I don't think their defence is as good as people think. They give up a lot of chances but he bails them out. Tampa is certainly beatable.

What do you mean you don't want to blow up all of the value pieces we have to surround Matthews, Tavares, Marner, and Nylander once everyone else's contracts are up? It's SO MUCH BETTER to get rid of players with cost control until they're 27 for the dudes on the expiring contracts.

'LEAFS SHOULD NOT MAKE ANY MOVES". You should banned from CapFriendly for not making any trades. But I agree with you, there is big overpay for marginal differences, which rarely help much if at all.
And if the Leafs are at full strength, who does Giordano at LHD replace that makes the Leaf better? I'll take Reilly and Sandin and hope Muzzin is better. But really the right side with Brodie, Holl and Lybushin can be fine.
It's the goaltending that has to be better...much better. Maybe Kallgren is the guy.

Sandin would sit for him for sure. Gio gives you another elite PKer that is still quite good on the powerplay with an absolute bomb of a shot. He also adds leadership and physicality too

Sandin sits.? I would say in the games he's play, Sandin has been the third best Leaf Dman this year.

We'll he is playing pretty sheltered minutes and not nearly as strong defensively. Not saying he is bad but when you are going all in Gio is definitely the better player in a cup run
