Not sure if you're speaking about me and the few other active Hab fans on this forum thread, but we were all ****ing around
I don't remember who it was, I often don't even look at who made the AGM, but I don't think it was you. So I'm not specifically commenting on anyone, just tell what I saw.
These conditions pick, always confuse me, anyway Montreal is now beginning of rebuilding team. It just going to take time to improve the team. Have fun, everyone.
Yeah very strange. I do remember someone saying after the Toff trade went down that the term remaining on his contract was more of a detriment than an asset because so many potential suitors were cap-strapped batons this year
Hard to believe Toffoli’s contract would be a detriment with the way he’s produced – unlike Chiarot he’s a gift that will keep on giving – but I guess a player’s trade value is more about how many other teams are bidding for him than how much use the receiving team is going to get out of him, so you could be right. More teams can bid on a deadline rental because of the salary retention, which sellers don’t mind doing for the current season because they’ve already written it off, but they’re usually reluctant to do it beyond that. Kudos to Treliving for leaving Calgary with enough cap space to bid on Toffoli. Even if he has to trade him during the summer to sign Gaudreau, he should be able to get back something close to what he paid for him. Or maybe Gaudreau leaves and Toffoli stays.
wasn’t your point all along a 1st and Pelletier?? Everyone knew he’d get a first, it’s an overpay but it’s the TDL…. The constant 1st and an A prospect was what people clowned Habs fans for as they should.
We never said 1st + A prospect. Pelletier would've been instead of the 1st. All Habs fans were expecting 1st + 3rd for chiarot, and we practically got 1st + 3rd + 4th.
No way we said 1st + Pelltier

I thought you blocked me? You know as well as I do that there were plenty of post with Holloway and a 1st, Pelletier and a 1st, Neighbours and a 1st, why choose to lie?
"Well, this is an absolute no brainer for us here in Montreal. I'm going to accept this deal before you change your mind about it." -Kent Hughes, NHL 22

If people proposed that trade, I'd think of them as crazy. I probably saw a couple of those, but I mostly saw 1st + 3rd or less for chiarot. Look at my posts of acmgs, I never had more than 1st + 3rd for him.
I blocked you, but I wanted to see what you posted in this thread, and I saw you quote me, so I responded.
I always knew Chiarot could fetch a 1st+ from some chump GM, but really? Bill Zito? I thought he knew better than this. If this ends up like the Savard trade did for the Lightning last season this will all be forgotten, but if not? Huge miss.
Sidenote, as a Wings fan this makes me optimistic for the potential return on Leddy
People tried to deny it as much as they could, but Chiarot was definitely going to fetch a 1st.
It was a heck of a three years, Big Ben, the most polarizing defenseman in Habs recent memory. Eye-test people loved him, analytics people hated him. Truth is, you will be missed in Montréal.
Florida just became even more dangerous for the playoffs.
"analytics hate him" - like no, he's an okay middle pairing defenseman. I just wouldn't pay a 1st rounder for that.
