That is nowhere near in the realm of fair for jt miller. He has a higher points per game than anyone on the caps right now with a good contract. How is that even close to fair?

Ha. Be careful, some of them cry rather easily.

He will get more than this package (Eller, Schultz, Sprong, Leason,1st) though. Sprong is worthless. Eller and Schults are worth a couple 2nds or so. Leason is an also-ran level prospect, not top-5 on the Caps, pushing even top-10. This ends up being basically 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd.

Considering his contract, Miller will get two 1st level pieces (1sts, top-2 prospect), plus a decent roster piece that they need/want (not one that the other team wants to move (UFA, cap move, etc)).

The Canucks will have to take on salary to make it work. Anyone who would want him is up against the cap. It's not going to be a hockey trade.

That would be the decent roster player that I mentioned. Not a "cap dump" type though. They have no need or reason to trade Miller other than to rebuild. Same with Garland. Adding Miller doesn't add $5.25M to your cap this year, so many teams have room for a TDL deal where even a $3M or $4M guy, that Vancouver actually wants, goes back.
