Where is this Leaf bias everyone talks about - lines next game

Date de création initiale: 14 mars 2022
Publié: 14 mars 2022
Équipe: 2021-22 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Explications
For a league that supposedly favours the Leafs they sure do screw them over a lot. Now suspending their superstar 2 games for a play which they set a precedent as a 5k fine

No, I want consistency. When this and a lot of similar plays are only 5k fines but what Matthews does is 2 games it's bias

Ok. Consistency I can get behind. Maybe they are trying to set a precedent because players keep doing this crap by increasing the punishment and saying "we don't care who you are, these types of hits won't stand anymore." I'm not saying other punishments shouldn't be worse, but, in my opinion, Matthews got off easy. If I were the one handing out punishments, it would be a lot worse for stuff like this.

In general DOPS be to inconsistent and there system is flawed

We have seen cross checks like this and worse plays result in 5k fines

Yes a first time offender in Matthews does it "hes a leaf 2 games"

Dahlin even after the game played it off and said it was 2 guys competing I am fine.

Stopped taking DOPS seriously after the Wilson incident anyways lul

Will leave this here "@ me when it happens"

Before the end of the season we will see 2-3 more plays similar to what Matthews did result in 5k fines.

Normally precedent isn’t created by something completely different.

When something worse happened by someone with a history, it counts. You gotta take your bias out of your comments and realize that its very inconsistent.

Seriously AM34 got a 2 game suspension ? I am going to the St. Patty's game, my first Leaf game in over a decade and not only is the allstar goalie injured but now the best player in NHL is not playing.

Anyone want a pair of tickets for Thurs?

So when they go back to the old precedent for everyone else like they always do I assume we will see you back in this thread admitting you were wrong right?

DOPS is super inconsistent. No argument here.

Tom Wilson rag dolling someone doesn’t set a precedent for cross checks. That’s just not what precedent means.

That got nothing. Not even a penalty. Not a fine. Nothing.

You're wrong. Time to admit it and leave

Why can’t i think that that deserved a suspension as well? I get it. Your favorite team had their best player suspended. They’re losing to bad teams, and you’re frustrated. Try to take emotion out of it. That’s a suspension, all day.

There is major Leaf bias in reporting. When it comes to suspensions, it's the classic "Spin the wheel of suspensions" and see what the player gets. How Subban has gotten away with as many slew foots as he has is beyond me.

But it isn't in the nhl. This is the only once since the kadri debrusk crosschecking that was suspended.
Funny that

Oh come on. Every fan thinks their team gets it worse than other teams. This isn't new. The league loves Matthews and Toronto. But this hit was objectively worse than most other hits that have been referenced in this thread. Two games is barely a slap on the wrist. Get over it, cry baby.

Matthews was getting manhandled by Dahlin and had to retaliate with a cheap shot to the head with his back turned in a defenseless position...that matters when the player's back was turned and blind sided him in a defenseless position.

I'm not saying the league is consistent because everyone knows they are not, but Dahlin was turned away and Matthews cross checked him in the side/back of the head and likely what led to a suspension.

Every fan thinks it but leafs fans are right. See you in a few when the nhl goes back to fines and ignoring stuff.

This was last night btw, also retaliatory. Nothing.

Ok, bud. Poor Toronto, they get singled out so much. You are absolutely right... Happy now?

Are we talking about the sport of hockey or babbling/arguing or trolling ?

You made your point for everyone to see, doesn't matter if HE doesn't wanna concede, you should just drop the mic and move on, not continue.

Btw, a suspension wouldn't have been needed if the ref had toss AM34 out of the game with a 10 minute penalty.
