The Perfect Trade deadline move with Copp out get back Perreault and Chiarot

Description
Both Perreault and Chiarot are UFA’s.

Getting $550K retained and getting back Chiarot and Perreault will be very good. After the scary hit Copp took, Copp will definitely need time. Especially after just coming off of an injury, we don’t want it to get any more life threatening. So there is freed up space now before the Trade Deadline.

Perreault has spent a lot of time with the Jets top 9 Veterans, understands the systems and has chemistry with the Jets Veterans. Also with Chiarot returning at the same time would bring more fired up energy with former teammates returning to finish the dream they all once had together. Chiarot is also a big 6’3 234 D-man that will help bring more physicality to beat out other teams in the Playoffs and hopefully a very successful run. Either ways it would be worth it to take the shot.

Perfect TDL move, if chiarot were truly only worth a 3rd... not sure why anyone would want perreault btw. He had one game where he scored a hat trick, and 1 point in the rest. He's a shell of his WPG former self

The trade proposal is getting back Chiarot and Perreault. There is negotiations. Either ways there are other moves to make with others.

Yeah right Jets fully know how valuable Chibrikov is, guy could’ve went in the first round, or just out of it. AND you’re trying to add a 2nd for Chiarot who is a UFA. You are the one that is way off.
Perreault is a depth guy close to retirement.

Jets might fully know what Chibrikov will be but have clearly not know how good Chiarot was actually. Habs won’t simply gave him back to you for basically nothing. I don’t know which world your living in but there literally 16 other team that would offer better. A trade work only when it benefits both team. It’s not the case here when the Habs might never walk right again after getting **** real bad

I genuinely thought that you had forgotten to put Copp in the deal. That’s how bad it is!
Seems that you don’t understand what is interesting about a rental.

Why are the Jets buying? Moneypuck has them at 7% chance to make the playoffs? and if they do will likely face Colorado in first round . Feel like this is a easy sell year for Jets get some assets for Copp and Stastny.

Like I said earlier this is a Trade proposal to get back Perreault(being very nice, as no other teams would trade for him…) and Chiarot.
There is obviously trade negotiations but Chiarot is a UFA, not cheap and a risky move for any team to over pay! Chiarot is definitely not worth a 2nd and a guy who could’ve made the first round or just out of it!

Perreault is near retirement and is a UFA.

But I agree, with retained salary there is more of a price to pay, and a more beneficial trade that helps both teams. As long as at least $550K is retained. Perreault is hardly worth a pick any more and close to retirement. But Chiarot is a very good physical addition but still has a bit poor defensive numbers, and is a UFA. Again, it would be a very risky move for any team to over pay a huge price… I thought about a 2nd, but you wouldn’t get much more or anything at all. A 3rd would probably go with a better pick like a 4th or 5th, obviously Jets will have negotiations. Or there is always other moves to make.

You are not the person who know the value of players. Value is relative to what a certain team are willing to offer. Savard was lt worth a 1st either but Tampa bay valued him for a specific reason. If Winnipeg are not willing to pay the price then they will have to find another defenseman. The fact that Chiarot is a UFA have a lot of value for most team since they are right against the cap next year. And there will be no négociation at all if the Jets call Montreal with that ridiculous offer.

No other team would pay for Perreault. Would be lucky to get anything from him.

If this were just a single trade for Chiarot, no team would over pay a very huge price for a UFA who could leave after the year…Any team would say that’s way too risky to pay such a huge price like you guys are exaggerating!!

Also Tampa traded for a guaranteed 27-32 pick which ended up as a 32 pick, that’s almost a top 2nd. Also helped Columbus A LOT TO UNLOAD, Which is very valuable in a trade exchange!!!... Especially with the hard Cap situation Columbus had….!!! You can not use that as a measuring stick

Irregardless of what you me or Joe down the highway values Chiarot at, the reported as is a 1st + prospect (many believe this prospect would have the value of about a 3rd or 4th) IF you truly want Chiarot back that is the starting point and it goes up depending on how many teams are actually interested (BTW the reports are as many as 8-10 teams are interested). Montreal will take the best deal out there, this doesn't even come close to that. If you truly thought Chiarot was only worth a 3rd you wouldn't be pushing so hard to get him.

As for Perrault I imagine a pick anywhere from a 4th to a 6th is likely enough to get him again though IMO Perrault could get a 4th from a true contender looking for depth and willing to pay for it (there is always a few of these teams). I think Montreal could move Perrault for a 6th but only at the 11th hour if no one else bites for a 4th or 5th.

If top teams are trading their guaranteed 25-32 pick, that’s almost a top 2nd pick. Don’t compare that first to a potential TOP 15 PICK

You are the one looking to acquire him, the price is the price, don't like it go find another D man. 1st + 3rd or similar valued prospects.

I hear you can get Justin Braun for a 2nd!

First and foremost, I hope Copp didn't get concussed for his own well being. We will find out his status on Tuesday, as there is no media availability today (Day Off).

The perfect trade deadline move would be the offloading of pending UFAs.

Reports are the Habs might be able to get a 1st+ for Chiarot, personally I wouldn't give that for him but the Habs can definitely get better then a 3rd for him.

No idea why anyone thinks the Jets should be trying to add, they are not making the playoffs, they need to sell and sell big!

The Jets are sellers not buyers.

Chiarot also sucks and wouldn’t fit anywhere on our left side. Perreault is awesome but irrelevant on this roster.
