When it comes to this trade, I don’t think a kings ransom is required for this type of trade. It’s a 34 year old, non-elite rental, and a risky proposition in a d man taht has stunk for the last two years and has a big contract. This is more than fair. When talking through it, I actually might have over-estimated Provorov’s market.

Maybe, I think that Phillydelphia will want more assets for Giroux, not nessesairly more value but more assets, I think they'll ask for a kings ranson for Provorov because hi is a young defenseman that can be great. They are also under no pressure to trade him.

They are. They’re totally re-working their D. Extensions for Ellis and risto kick in next season, and reports were that they were thinking about scratching provorov. It seems like the way things are going in philly, something would have to drastically change for his value to increase.

The evidence is pretty clear that thats not how they see him. The risto and Ellis extensions tell you that. The fact that they took him off the PP and were thinking about scratching him tell you that. His play tells you that.

Flyers reject. Provorov is a top pairing defenseman who is locked up long term and is young and Giroux still is an elite top 6 forward. Bruins simply do not have enough assets to make this trade work
