    I don't think Hoffman would be much of an interest, but Drouin could be. I just don't think it would be THIS season. I would expect it to be an off-season type of thing.

    The issue with Hoffman is he's a sniper who isn't sniping and we already have that in Zucker lol and the fact he has a bit of term, it's becomes a gamble. Zucker at least has a good all around game, whereas Hoffman is pretty bad at hockey other than scoring.

    No. Hoffman is more of a PP specialist and perimeter player. Not the type of guy Sullivan likes. Drouin would also be a no because of his AAV. Lehkonen might interest them if he is available.

    Zucker have 6 goals and 13 points while playing with good teammates while Hoffman have 11 goals 22 points while playing with Dauphin & Gallagher …

    Nevermind. Not paying that for Lehkonen. Hoffman/Drouin come cheap because they aren't that great and cost a lot.

    MTL fans haven't learned from the Toffoli trade. They're delusional about Lehkonen.

    The chance a 2nd RD pick make it too the NHL is 20%, the chance he becomes as good as Lehkonen is what 5% ? Plus he won’t be as good as Lehkonen for at least 4-5 years. So no, he is worth way more than a 2nd RD pick

    Toffoli was not fitting MTL so it didn’t need an overpay to move him. Lehkonen is a RFA and fits the team in every aspect. Age, level of compete, speed, etc. Might go for less than what I suggest, but that would be my bias opinion (he’s my favorite player so that doesn’t help).

    @GMs

    Sorry, I'm not quoting that whole thing. Here's the facts on Lehkonen and nobody is saying he's a bad player or anything like that, it's just about true value...

    1) He's a solid 3rd line winger.
    2) He tops out around 25/30 points a year
    3) He's very good defensively.

    That is not worth more than 2nd... MAYBE a 2nd + decent prospect.

    There nothing delusional about asking for a prospect and a first round pick. Coleman got a huge haul because Tampa bay had him in in very high praise. And stop with the bull**** that he is a better player because he isn’t. He only have 9 more goal and most of them have come when he was use like a top line forward in Jersey. Over 17 minutes of ice time. Lehkonen defensive upside are superior to Coleman but Coleman bring some physicality. I would say that those players are the perfect comparaison except Lehkonen is 2 years younger then Coleman was when he got traded. The value is always relative to the market. If there 15 team that are in for
    Lehkonen then somebody will pay a higher price. This is how it work. Not because some random dude on CapFriendly think that Lehkonen should not be acquire for more then a 2nd round pick. If it the only offer Montreal received they will stop answering the phone quickly since they are in absolutely no rush to move him since he have a year left under team control.

    People doesn’t understand much about the Toffoli deal but they actually got great return. Heineman is not a blue chip prospect but he is certainly a very good prospect. He have show sign of development. Some people would have want Zary over him but Zary haven’t shown anything good simce joining professional hockey. They also got 2 pick and the major thing in that deal is they don’t had to take back any other salary. That 4+ millions is a great relief for a strangle cap Habs. It’s not always about players value but also cap value.

    That would be fair, but I think we fans rather have him with us than getting a 2nd Rd pick + decent prospect. Depends what decent mean, PIT doesn’t have blue chip prospect, so their best prospects IMO are Poulin Legaré & POJ. No need of POJ, so it would take one of Poulin or Legaré and a 2nd. That’s fair, but I would like to get more obv

    What are you talking about? I said a 2nd at best and he gets a 2nd + a prospect. I was a hell of a lot close than all the habs fans trading him for multiple firsts and prospects. What didn't age well was all those loony Lehkonen trades.
