Agreed, I would take Foote and a 1st for Lehky everyday and twice on Sunday. Besides having 3 1sts this year will do wonders for our prospect pool.

About a late first less than Lehkonen retained. :-P

He took a pay cut from his ELC for his bridge deal and is on a one way deal, not sure how to feel about that.

He’s been a great defenseman this year. Midds hasn’t looked out of place at all with Karlsson and could be a contributing factor to EK65’s resurgence. On top of that, he adds a nice offensive touch that is a nice refresh. He’s also being paid league minimum right now and is an RFA this offseason. Super underrated guy.

Edit: I should also mention I don’t entirely agree with the 1st for Middleton take, I think he should get a 2nd at max, but we have no reason to move him and would only trade him in the case of an overpayment.

My thoughts exactly. A 2nd max is probably peak value but SJ has no reason to do it so I think a 2022 late TB 1st a la what happened with Goodrow (no one would've argued before the trade that he was worth a 1st) can be done here to push SJ to accept the offer. It payed off well for TB last time, could be the same again.
