We didn't include Pelletier for Toffoli.

We certainly are not trading one of our top prospects for a 3rd pairing D!

Just - not - gonna - happen!

Of course you already knew that but like all Habs fans, you continue to hold on to your fantasies!

No

Really good definitely won't be available for a move like this. I wouldn't move him at all but knowing GMBT a bad trade comes shortly after a really good trade. Soo...

Hes almost at a PPG at the AHL so he's really good i think 😉, its been reported they want him to take them over the edge over other deep teams in the west

Yeah I checked. He’s way too good to be traded for a rental that’s not necessarily needed.

Pass.

No one's ever successfully explained to me why the Flames, a team coasting into the playoffs, needs a rental defenseman as dubious as Chiarot. (There's a reason why people question the cleverness of acquiring Chiarot or Josh Manson, but no one challenges the idea of acquiring Hampus Lindholm just the price.). In a pinch, can't they just bring Juuso Valimaki back up?

The habs would say no to that trade.

The pick montreal is giving back will be one of the first picks in round three. Value wise its functionally a late 2nd round pick. Pelletier was a late first so the trade essentially boils down to Chiarot for a 2nd round pick. The habs can find better value than that for him.

As for the prospect himself Pelletier wouldnt be exceptionally high on the habs want list. The winger pool between roster players with age and term and prospects is pretty well stocked atm,. Theres also the obvious issue.....his size. We already have caufield and Gallagher who are there long term in the top 9 who are 5'9 or shorter, we also have Olympian Sean Farrell who is 5'9 who likely makes the team in a few years, finnally theres also Simoneau who has been a top Q point producer and play driver for several seasons now who is 5'7. Pelletier doenst fill a need like others would.

Thing is that is the type of price you pay for a top 4 defenseman rental - one that can make a noticeable improvement to the team - Chiarot is in no way that for the Flames!

Come on you watched the Habs-Flames game, Chiarot was better than any dman on the Flames. Yes Andersson Tanev Hanifin are better than him on a regular basis, but Chiarot is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than Z & Gudbranson (who’s having a good season) & Chiarot is a better dman than Kylington comes playoffs. So no you don’t need Chiarot especially for that price or even a 1st, but he wouldn’t be a healthy scratch. He would be above Z in the Left Handed Dman in your depth chart

1 game doesn't remotely define a player. I figured you would know that by now. He would certainly not play above Z in the depth chart. Also thats just purely your opinion on Kylington because he's in his breakout year and you dont want to accept how good he is
