That is correct. But we know Canuck fans read the hockey blogs that dream big of bringing back BC kids.

Eichel with FIVE years term cost Tuch, Krebs, cond. 1st and cond. 2nd.

Why does Miller with 1.5 years of term cost nearly the same?
Especially with how many rentals are available, this drives Millers price down

You can’t compare the two. Eichel required surgery and am I jury and it was uncertain he will ever play up to an elite level ever again. He also has a 10 million dollar a year contract which is 2x Miller’s cost while Miller is pretty much producing sat the same rate Eichel has in the past three seasons

Byram is untouchable. It cracks me up that one muses about a trade to a team that has been linked to every big name in the league, but what everybody fails to realize is that on COL he is a 2nd line player and the 5th best forward. You don’t give up your premier top young assets for somebody like that. But now here comes the “but he is a ppg player, yada yada yada”, yeah he gets top line minutes PP1 minutes and the team is a fringe playoff team. But when he was on a playoff team he was a 2nd line 50-60 point guy. Smart GM’s don’t over pay for guys like that. Byram is untouchable as a future top pairing cost controlled dman that a contender needs with a pricey roster. Hard fast no.

Eichel is worth 10 mil.
Hes a 25y/o career point per game player, 10 mil is the going rate.
Surgery is a non factor, for someone of his age and nearly a year of medical examinations etc. They knew the surgery would get done and hed be 100%.

Dont compare Miller to Eichel, hes not on the same level and comes with 3.5 years less term

you are right, you can't compare the two because Eichel is in a completely different category, one much higher than JT Miller.
Miller is so much more valuable to Vancouver than the return they will see if they trade him.
Canuck fans are going to be really upset in the event he is dealt...

Except it was certain. BUF wanted to be difficult and refuse him the surgery he wanted. Go back and listen to the 32 thoughts podcast where they had one of the premier neck surgeons on and he literally pegged when Eichel would be back. BUF mismanaged the situation horrifically. You’re trying to justify a price based on an expanded role on a fringe playoff team when Miller was a career 50-60 point guy on playoff teams. Yeah not the same thing. COL is never giving up Byram in a Miller trade.

That’s part of VAN problem. Miller is a top player, but he isn’t elite. I kind or correlate Miller to what Duchene was with the Avs. Not exactly mind you but similar in that they were viewed as more than what they really are.

No but the Byram in a Miller trade showed up on VAN blogs after Drance mused about not. Not actually reporting it. It’s like the whole Girard to MTL for Anderson (barf) that one reporter mused about. Doesn’t change the fact COL isn’t trading an injured player, and isn’t trading a cost controlled premier d talent, one that is part of their core.
