DeBrusk and Senyshyn want out of Boston and the Bruins have holes to fill at second line center and on defense. So why not go out west for some reinforcements? Both San Jose and Seattle are at the bottom of the Pacific, albeit for different reasons, and need to move pieces to improve. For San Jose they need to get something for Hertl who's on the last year of his contract and particularly depth on the wings. So I could see the Sharks willing to move on from Hertl, as well as take on salary if properly compensated with a top round pick and a young d man, to take on Jake DeBrusk. For Seattle, they need a young forward and have a log jam on defense and the Bruins have a log jam in terms of wingers with Zachary Senyshyn frustrated down in Providence. Why not use this opportunity to correct a mistake the Bruins made during the expansion draft? Bring back Jeremy Lauzon (a defenseman they should've protected) in exchange for Zach Senyshyn who can use the opportunity to get his big chance in the pros. And while we are making trades, the Bruins are in need of size and there is a defenseman on Long Island that would be a perfect fit. So why not trade away a low round pick to bring back Chara one last time?
