I understand that comptois value is not relative to his full potential right now, BUT that's why i asked what would your team need and could be equal to what you looking for compensation for comptois

Ive tried to read this a few times but it is a mess to say the least.

The habs already have 1 top 6 LW spot locked up between Caufield and Anderson playing together with Suzuki.

They also have Hoffman Lehkonen and Drouin. They arent trading all 3.

They also have pitlick who is producing well and is cheaper against the cap.

Then theres poehling who if another centre comes in (wright getting drafted, someone being brought in through free agency) will probably be moved to LW.

There is no reason for the habs to spend assets to acquire a player in a area we dont need improvement on relative to others.

We have no need for him. Next season odds are we'll have probably 2 of the Hoffman/Drouin/Lehky, Pitlick, Byron and Pezzetta plus Caufield/Anderson on the 1st playing offside. Comtois on a 4th won't be better than a role player like Byron and Pezzetta in that case and I wouldn't move lile a 2nd for him in that case

Unless you’re an avid watcher of the Ducks or a Ducks fan, I don’t think people realize the value Comtois holds.
He has had a bad year because of an injury at the beginning of the season, slow start back up, then getting dog housed by DE because DE is not a NHL coach whatsoever. Hes 23 and has had one poor season due to injury and suddenly he’s a “bum” according to brain dead nhl fans.

It would most likely take a haul to get him.
