Even if Kane decides to leave (he already said he wants to stay in Chicago his entire career). The hawks want players and prospects, not Nazem Kadri. Not a knock on Kadri in any way. I’m saying this because Kadri adds so much value it will take away from the picks and prospects they should get when trading Kane. Kadri doesn’t really fit into rebuild plans, he’s a win now asset.

Good. I'd love it if Kaner stayed a Hawk for his entire career. His playing style isn't physical so his body isn't going to breakdown anytime soon. His assets are passing, sniping, vision, IQ. If anything his IQ will just get even better with age. I honestly think he'll until he's 40+. Which is another 6 year deal likely.

Pagnotta is a rumour monger who is 99% wrong, he is basically an eklund throwing out team names and players and hoping something sticks. He has been embarrassingly wrong about anything about the avs. he was the one who started the whole Landeskog nonsense saying he only got a 5m aav offer from them. Which was proven to just flat out wrong to the point of he was lying about it or has some of the worse sources imaginable.

Saying a team checked in on a player means nothing that that, hes trying to get clicks to his name and website. all GMs call one another about the status of players and their values so GMs know what the market actually is. Burke said it in an interview once before that if fans knew what GMs talked about and how they discuss every player even the ones they know arent available would make their heads spin.

Checking in is what all Gms do, they call one other about players and their values to understand the market, that is their jobs, checking in or having interest doesn't mean they are talking trades and giving players that are available to make a deal.

But again, we can discuss a potential trade whether it’s in the rumor mill, not in the rumor mill, has 1% chance of happening, etc. This is what arm chair is for. You still called out this armchair poster for doing just that because it sourced pagnotta. We can discuss this trade even if pagnotta doesn’t make that rumor!
