Would they prefer podkolzin over hoglander?

I don’t think you are valuing Garland right. I’d say VAN is giving too much for 1 year of Nylander at 6.9M. If I’m VAN it’s a no but I’d want to get Nylander to play with Petey

Its actually 2 years of Nylander. I'd agree it's an overpayment if it was one year, but the second year justifies it in my opinion.

It is almost a big of an underpayment. Nylander has been on a bit of a bad streak, but before, he was one of, if not the, best Leaf. He definitely was in the playoffs and beginning of this year. I'd change the 3rd into a first next year.

I think Hoglander is definitely more likely to be involved in a trade, and there have been rumours about him being traded, although there was a report the other day saying the Canucks would rather keep him. He could definitely be moved in the right trade though

See I personally value Podkolzin higher than I do Hoglander, so here's what I'd offer. Nylander and a 2022 3rd for Garland, Hoglander, a 2023 1st and a 2022 5th. Would that be fair in your opinion?

That’s a bit better but I’m still taking Garland and package over Willy. Less than 5M for a guy who should be making 6+ for the next 5 years. Complete player too. The trade makes sense for both sides on some level. I just don’t think it’s balanced. Just my opinion though. Many might think it’s good

If the Canucks are moving both Boeser and Miller, then i'm pretty sure they've no use for William Nylander.

Both teams decline. If I were to propose a base deal, it would be between Garland and Nylander, but Vancouver adds a bit. But, Leafs should not make a lateral move and if they move Nylander it is to bolster their defense or goaltending

Alright I respect your opinion. Everyone has their sort of point of view, and this might be my bias but I believe that when he's playing at his best like he was before he got someone cold this season, Nylander is a top 10 RW in this league. That's why I believe a return like that is warranted but I can see why someone might be skeptical.

It's a fair trade, maybe even too much to give up by the Canucks. Leafs like the 2.1m cap saving. Could even be a trade right now, instead of the the off season.

When he is on he is ON. 💯

When he is off he is not even in the building.

Garland from what I’ve seen is always doing his thing whether ARZ/VAN are the the outhouse of the league or winning. Now I haven’t watched every game or as many as I have of Nylander so I might have just got many of his good games but I do believe his analytics are 🔥. All that being said I think it’s what both teams need and a deal surrounding those 2 would be great

They're moving Miller because by the end of his contract he's going to be 30 and ask for a huge raise and moving boeser because his qualifying offer is at $7.5 mil and this he's 0.65 pts/game. Alexander Kerfoot has a 0.69 pts/game to give you the perspective of how much of an overpayment that would be. Nylander is 25 right now and by the time his contract ends he'll still only be 27 or 28. He fits quite well with the canucks imo.

I think garland just fits well and nylander would fit well with the nucks. As for bolstering the defense, I think they flip the 2023 1st and a few prospects to get that dman as well.

I agree Podkolzin is more valuable, albeit probably only slightly. I think if you bump the 1st down to a 2nd then it would be more fair (although there’s a chance I’m being a bit biased)

I'd do Nylander for Garland and a 2nd? Not really willing to give up our young guys but I'd move Hoglander over Podkolzin
