Description
Time to move the UFAs and get the rebuild moving. Time to draft the supporting cast that will help prime Zegras, Terry, Mctavish and Drysdale put the Ducks in contention for years to come. Just give Madden the picks and get out of his way, that man knows what he is doing. These guys will be on entry levels when our big ticket guys will be getting paid.

For the now, I kept the roster as effective as I see it. It also gives some NCAA guys that will likely sign as well as the SD guys time with the big club. Who plays will be determined by whoever is giving you a more competitive effort. By giving them the remaining of the season, it should give the team an idea of whether they are close to ready or if a UFA is required come July.

Conditional 2022 3rd; If STL makes the conference finals, ducks receive the pick.
STL
  1. Lindholm, Hampus (2 602 778 $ retained)
  2. O'Regan, Danny
Détails additionnels:
STL gets high end LD they need.

Scandella is off the books so Lindholm can be resigned.
2.

Anaheim gets a winger to upgrade their fourth line.
PIT
  1. Deslauriers, Nicolas
  2. Rakell, Rickard (1 894 722 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
PIT gets a scoring winger that will help elevate their forward depth along with a physical presence in DLo.

TOR
  1. Manson, Josh (2 050 000 $ retained)
  2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2022 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
TOR gets the best suited right shot D they need for the playoffs, without selling any of their prospects that could help them as soon as next season, while the window is still open. If Muzzin comes back, that rounds of their top 4 nicely.
4.
ANA
  1. Zaitsev, Nikita
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2022 (BOS)
Détails additionnels:
With the LW position being already crowded and Jones coming back, ANA can make this trade. ANA picks up Manson’s short term replacement. It’s a downgrade but contract would not jeopardize your cap when you need to resign your big ticket guys in a few years. Ducks also get a little cap space in the now and draft capital.
OTT
  1. Drew, Hunter
  2. Henrique, Adam
Détails additionnels:
OTT gets rid of Zaitsev’s contract that opens the roster spot for JBD or Thomson. They also get a productive veteran that can handle the third line with Brown.
5.
ANA
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Change of scenery. Draft pick will likely be 33th-36th. With the great scouting record Anaheim has, they should be able to fetch a great prospect.
MTL
  1. Comtois, Maxime
Détails additionnels:
MTL gets a young LW (francophone too) who can develop nicely under Marty’s system. After seeing what he did with Caufield, I have no doubts Comtois would benefit from this. MTL potential future top line Comtois, Suzuki, Caufiekd.

Habs decline. We don't have much use for him atm and we'd rather select a prospect in the early 2nd than get a "project" that will toss someone else next year

I wouldn't have any problems with any of these deals except the Max Comtois surrender. Sometimes, the best trades you make are the trades you don't make.

Ya no chance the habs give that 30s pick away especially for a winger. It would make way more sense for them to either draft someone with it or use it to push their 1st round pick up higher in the draft.

But, I remember you ducks fans saying you won't trade comtois for caifiled 1 for1 .
What a embarrassment

It's a very interesting idea but i juat can't see how the habs can afford the contract with the 50 contract limit, they need this spots (harris - roy)

Habs should take that
Hughes said he want NHL ready prospect as well
MTL probably move Drouin and Hoffman this offseason so there’s a roster spot for Comtois
For the 34ish OA, Comtois is worth it IMO

Even if they move Drouin and Hoffman they still have:

Caufield
Anderson
Gallagher
Pitlick
Lehkonen
Byron

And thats before you get to:

Ylonen and RHP one of which will all but garunteed make the team next year

One of Poehling or Evans will be pushed to the wing if we get another centre (which is likely)

Joshua Roy who is having literally one of the best statistical seasons the Q has seen in the last decade could also make the team.

The habs DO NOT need him. If he wasnt french you wouldnt be linking him to the habs because theres no organizational need for him.

Thought the pens were in on him. I guess not. If they do decline then a similar package from the rangers could be had. And then the Pens get to face him.

That's fine. He's not worth a 1st. For all the players that will be available, there are plenty of better options for a 1st.

Trust me I’m a big Comtois guy but Milano emerging the way he did, it kinda made him expandable. Having said that, a pick in the 30s isn’t something to scoff about. Zelleweger is looking like a massive steal about now. He was around that number. The Ducks have the drafting record to find talent that others overlook.

Who was the 1st overall pick in the Q 2 years earlier. He was ppg player in his draft year people just discounted him because they didnt like his comments when he asked for a trade last year. If there was a redraft today he would be a top 15 pick.

Even without Roy next year though we dont need comtois. We already have 8-10 viable wing options. There is not point wasting a good asset on something we dont need

The TOR trade is a steal for ANA. The PIT trade is solid but the rest is poor for ANA. Lindholm can get more without taking back cap. Henrique is a lot better than Zaitsev and actually has positive value with some retention. Zaitsev is awful. When Eakins is gone next season Comtois we’ll be able to judge Comtois better. I dont have a problem moving Mahura or Steel but I think they’re more swap for like aged players in similar situations, not just draft picks.

My lineup is if Habs want to contend next year, the holes in your lineup is 2C, 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 1LD, 1RD.
My scenario, we're trading gally. I don't think he fits well with us. He needs a new start. And before his value goes down, we should get as much as we can.
The holes in my lineup are : 2C, 1LD, 1RD.
If Habs would be going for it, I'd recommend gourde + chychrun / Lindholm + Letang/ Klingberg.
I know this is all hypothetical, but can I dream?

Chiarot Kulak Lehkonen probably gone at the TDL
No to Roy & RHP
Byron is always injured so if he is then RHP could be called up but Dauphin will probably be the 13th forward

No you can’t and that thinking is the reason MTL sucks for 25+ years. We are rebuilding, not trying to contend next year and you are pushing with contend, it’s more ‘maybe making the playoffs’. MTL need to be bad again next year, the only major addition I could see is Petry being traded and Letang getting signed
