Realistic Deadline

Description
- Reports that oilers are not looking for a goalie which is scary but nobody except for managment can control that. But what I do hope for is Skinner to play over Smith as Smith has done nothing but hurt the team and Skinner has proven he's good enough to be the backup in the NHL games he's had. Plus his AHL numbers showcase that he's a little too good to be playing down there anyway.

- Mayfield would be a great addition and I feel like the trade helps out both teams

- If SEA is looking to improve their team and add offense from the back then Barrie would be a good fit, I've heard of Klingberg suggestions for SEA and Barrie is the poor mans version of him so grabbing a right handed offensive dman to fill out the blue line will be very helpful next season. And hopefully Barrie can bounce back and play well in Seattle.

- Oilers have been scouting PHI games for the past couple of weeks and I hope Braun is the guy they're looking at

- I'd imagine the team (when all healthy) will switch between 11 F and 7 D and the traditional 12 F and 6 D and maybe they'll find the right balance there

Rather keep barrie and get chychrun but were not giving up a ton in these trades so their not bad for what we are getting

I like Chych but he's gonna cost way too much for what he can bring. I don't want to sacrafice too much of the future for a 2LD, while we have Broberg who can play there in the next 1-2 seasons.

Barrie is too much of a liability for me defensively and doesn't fit in well on the team. The back end needs to be a little more sound defensively and heavier (as seen from last game), so Braun would be a good cheap fit that I think will improve the team.

NYI and SEA decline. A rebuilding seattle isnt overpaying in futures for barrie and islanders need a 1st at the very bare minimum for mayfield.

We only need one RD, we are not playing a RD on the left side
Seattle declines
Fair trade for Mayfield

I agree seattle declines, but that's a fair trade for Mayfield

It's a fair price I think for Mayfield. The value adds up to be probably on par with a 1st and I think it works out in favour for both teams.

I can see why SEA declines given their position in the standings but I'm sure a team out there would take Barrie for a similar price.

Teams have no problems playing Left handed players on the right side so it should be the same for the oilers and Braun. There's a huge 2LD hole on the team and the cheapest option that helps strengthen the team defensively would be Braun.

Savard got a 1st and a 3rd. All reports are that chiarot will get a 1st at the TDL. Why should the islanders settle for less when mayfield is just as good as those 2 and also has a 2nd year at 1.45.

Take a look around the league teams are moving away from doing that, ever since analytics came into play the stats aren't good and teams will use dump in plays against off side D to exploit that weakness, and has Braun ever played his off hand.
