Amirov won’t be moved in his situation

I’m wondering why they haven’t moved chiarot yet? Haven’t received a first?

If their hope is to win a playoff series they have to have much better 2nd and 3rd pairs than Chiarot - Holl, Dermott - Lyubushkin.

It's pretty easy to tell this is a Habs fan posting

Rodion Amirov has a brain tumor, so perhaps you want to reconsider posting this.

Leafs need to try and win now. Habs can be a lot more patient. Give him all the time he needs.

You’re right. Just keep doing what you’ve been doing. Toronto is an excellent regular season hockey team. They give out the Stanley cup in the regular season, right?

Why do you think it's the defence? Last year it was lack of goal scoring. Let's say the Leafs play Florida. In the past four seasons, just two playoff appearances and no playoff round wins for Florida. By your logic they shouldn't Florida be outbidding the Leafs for Chariot?

Whoever pays the price for Chiarot is going to be happy that they did. The guy is an absolute stud in playoff hockey. The Leafs know that first hand from last season.

Leafs need upgrades at D and at depth forward positions though, if they want to be in it for the long haul.

But can't you say that for any playoff team? Actually the Leafs have a better GAA than Tampa and Florida, but somehow the Leafs are the teams that so desparate for Dmen?

If Chiarot is that bad, how damning is it that the Leafs couldn't close out the series with him being on the ice for 28 minutes a game (35 in game 6)? hushed

I didn't say he was bad, but why is there such a belief Leafs are so desperate on defence Shouldn't contenders that have worse defence than the Leafs be in the acquiring Dmen. Sorry all these Charitot to Leafs and Rangers are getting redundant and silly. Shouldn't about 15 other teams be in on the action?
I don't know how having Chariot on the Leafs last season would have the Leafs defence better

I'm just poking fun. Half of my friends/relatives are Leafs fans, so we usually have a back and forth going. No hate, just jabs.

I think the idea is defense helps the goaltending, because that's going to be more difficult to address. You have to move one out, whereas you can just add another D.

As for Chiarot, he just returned to the lineup. Need to make sure he's 100%. More of a TDL move anyway.
Every GM has a lot of irons in the fire to sort through. It's not unusual for them to take their time.
When you're spending a significant asset (like a 1st) you want to see the whole market and make your decision with the most up to date information, so it makes more sense to wait for the deadline.

Leafs allowed 14 goals last playoff.. But I'm constantly amazed that the Leafs defence is the only reason that the Leafs didn't succeed last year (or preceding years) according to so many CF followers.

Your defense should be equal or better than your opponent. Toronto's top 4 simply doesn't hold up to other teams.
If it isn't, your forward group should be better and deeper. Difficult to achieve when you're limited to discount options at LW in your top 6.

There's room for improvement in both areas, but again, defense is easier to address. Chiarot (just an example) could be had for under $1M if you're willing to pay the price. That price would be cheaper than Giroux (example again) who would be ~$2M at best.
