If the cost of Jokiharju is a failed prospect+3rd, have I've got a very fresh Max Jones with your name on it!

Dermott costs more / Bjork doesn't fit in the system for the Leafs. Dermott would likely be moved with picks for a better player or traded for picks.

There’s A LOT here that just doesn’t make much sense

1- Jokiharju for a guy you’re gonna play on the 4th line??

2- Dermott for the top pair when just about every Leafs fan wants to dump him??

3- Nick Cousins, a bottom6 guy who can’t score, on the 1st line??

4- Breaking up there Skinner-Thompson-Tuch line that’s been awesome for us??

5- Bringing in Koskinen?? He blows dude. We gotta do better that that. Heck, Anderson is- even in his 40s

    No, he’s not
Dahlin has finally taken a big leap forward- IN PART- to having him as a steady partner

2 mil is actually a fair price Koskinen, he is fine in a backup or 1b role

he can do things like this occasionally

But he’s WAY TOO INCONSISTENT to be a dependable partner for a rookie goalie (UPL)
Would u wanna bring him back to pair him with Skinner?
    I doubt it

Dahlin has showed glimpses but he has not "taken a big leap forward." Him and Jokiharju have a 42% expected goals percentage at even strength. Points are not how you should evaluate defenceman.

    1. Jokiharju has been one of the worst regular dmen in the league this year. Outshot and outchanced heavily at even strength.

    2. Dermott has been fine while he's been in the lineup. He's got strong defensive stats and I think would pair well with Dahlin while not costing as much as some of the other available dmen (severson, chychrun)

    3. Him being on the 1st line doesnt matter. He's had really positive defensive metrics while not being an anchor offensively for like 3 seasons now.

    4. I'm not married to the skinner-thompson-tuch line. Thompson has played well enough where I don't think he needs a guy like Tuch to drive play offensively. Putting those 2 on different lines i think would work well.

    5. Koskinen is better than his sv% would indicate. He doesn't have to be the answer. I'd be fine with Anderson coming back if he continues to play well this season

    Well no offense….
But i think your reasoning is horrible, & ALL of things i pointed out were quite obvious mistakes with your lineup
    I guess we just disagree
    I’m glad u aren’t our GM though! 😂

    Expected goals%: 48% in 20-21, 44% in 21-22
    Scoring chances %: 49% in 20-21, 46% in 21-22
    High danger chances %: 50% in 20-21, 42% in 21-22

If the only stat you use to evaluate dmen is points then you probably have no idea which dmen are good and which aren't

    Wait a sec….
U mean to tell me that defensemen who play a lot have bad underlying numbers when they’re on a BAD team overall?
    No **** Sherlock
Enjoy your analytics, but they only tell PART of the story
And in this case, are fairly useless

    But you’ve got a 4th liner on line 1,
    so what would i expect??

No. No, he is not. I respect your analytics, but that price is far too low for a guy who isn't really that bad. Also, Jokiharju being out chanced and out shot isn't truthfully as glaring as it may seem (at least to me), because the Sabres offense as a whole has tended to fall well short of their opponents in SOG and Scoring Chances this season. This is to say that although it is a problem that he has to work on, most Sabres, I think cause this is a guess, would fall into the same category of having less SOG and SCs when on the ice, compared to the opponent.
