Détails additionnels:
Only way this works Capwise is if
-Gudbranson(leaves almost 400k cap left)
or
-Valamaki with Ritchie (still 200k over )

There's the Dube option to avoid a 1st being used as Dube and a 2nd would take it IMO. However i doubt CGY is going on a run and selling Dube over Valimaki and Ritchie

Its the comment sections Call
I'll re-edit after a choice has been made
Until then im just making it for 1st
Worry about the Cap trade side when the comment section has spoken

For various 4th to 7th round picks
Not really worth bothering as well debate perrault for a 5th. ..
So im clumping them together to anyone for anything.

MTL
  1. Durzi, Sean
  2. Lemieux, Brendan
Détails additionnels:
Come playoffs i think Armia is a clear upgrade on Lemieux who's more likely to take a penalty then draw one. He's physical and cycle's pucks better then anyone in MTL in his time here as he wins 9/10 battles in the corner using all of his frame. His speed allows him to jump up on a lot of break aways.

There was some worries but under MSL like many he's finding his offense again with a goal and an assist in his last 5 he's regaining his confidence at both ends

Détails additionnels:
LAK have RD depth from NHL to AHL to NCAA all quality
I just took the one i figured they'd be alright moving
I'll gladly take Spence or Roy or really any of their RD
I just Chose Durzi as he's looking at a pay bump
The others are under contract for years

Would happily take a Roy or Spence instead

DET

  2. Choix de 5e ronde en 2023 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
Veleno would give MTL Center Depth
He's looking like he's at about where Evans is
I personally like Evans better as a Winger he has more speed he doesnt utilize at Center often. I'd love to see Veleno take over MTL's 3rd line

Calgary is reportedly out on Chiarot.

Chiarot would also be a healthy scratch in Calgary so he's not remotely worth paying a 1st for. Maybe a 5th

Petry is also not worth remotely that much. 1 for 1 with JVR in the offseason is more accurate than this

i missed that my bad
last i heard they were trying to make it work in a seperate deal
Then again that was before their winning streak got so long
Even Flames Nation as early as 3 days ago was suggesting Chiarot's on the table still

Its that he'll be making 1.75m cap that makes him easier to acquire why they keep circling back
Otherwise i think GIO would be back in the mix for a Cup run logically
But CGY is tight cap wise right now which is why they overpaid for Toffoli's Team Friendly deal

I've went through 2 dozen articles quickly all printed in the last 7 days and as early as 4 hours ago
All seem to suggest CGY is still in . Even Eklund who usually goes against the grain is saying Chiarot is being looked at by CGY

What are the sources you read im just curious
I even began looking on Twitter to see if there's anything on there

Petry you're just flat out Wrong
Ill go with the experts on this one as far as Petry value
As for JVR's 7m for 20 points for a player in his mid 30's
I dunno kinda seems like a harder sell then a guy with 5 points in his last 6 Games
He had a bad start after a SCF but looks fine under MSL

JVR didnt rebound like that with a coaching change
just saying lol

Just because Fletcher has interest in Petry, What makes you think that Petry has interest in Philly? Philly has been god awful here lately Petry would probably rather stay in Montreal then with a Philly team that's not much better.

Armia has two goals on the season over Lemieux’s 8, Durzi has been exceptional as a rookie. Why are the Kings (who are in 2nd place in the division) selling good players who bring grit and intensity to a tanking team?

Seravalli said it on the DFO podcast shortly after the Toffoli trade

Wow that is some crazy cherry picking on JVR and Petry. JP has 11 points this year as a wong side of 34 year old offensive defenseman. He has 3 more years left on a contract that has looked pretty unattractive this season. 5 games under a coaching change high does not change that. Petry is literally older than JVR so why bring up JVR's age as a negativity?

Montreal is essentially getting out of a bad long term contract and getting a guy they can easily flip at next years deadline to a contender. Im not saying it will be a 1 for 1 but you are out to lunch if you think Petry has value anywhere close to a 1st right now, let alone one as high as Philly's

Well that's funny
I didnt know what he had TBH i just figured the odds of him having the same were 1/10000000
Alright so they want to keep JVR now , ok

Who under this new coach is the new public enemy #1 PHI fans trade on this site non stop?

Make it MEV for all i care
Just was taking a cap dump with term for a payday
Doesnt matter to me which one
That said if its MEV then that 1st is in 2022 not 2024
There is no potentially flipping him
Just using him during a rebuild until he retires basically

I dont really think you understand what a coaching change high is. Every team plays better for a 5-8 game period on average after a coaching change before reverting. The idea of something new thats potentially better invigorate ls them for a little while. But then the coach starts implementing their own system and that takes rough 10-15 more games for the team to set it in. The team falls back to their normal in that time and usually starts a very gradual climb as they learn the new system (unless the coaching change is done in the offseason in which they have training camp to learn).

So you're saying more or less neither of our points about JVR's or Petry's perceived value's matter until after the TDL to see if its sticks?
I'm thinking if that was the worry Petry wouldnt have so many suitors
Not sure what JVR's situation is

Petry's worry was he had scored 1 goal since mangling his hand in the payoffs
He's now scored 2 under MSL and had 1 real close call that became an assist im still not sold that was our mans stick it tipped off of
That questions been answered

Playing with a special glove to hold your stick because you cant after NHL Camera Men left their Photographers window open
That's the big concern with Petry combined with his Frustration made it seem like it was over for him he lost his touch
Turns out his Hands fine

RD of his Caliber dont hit the market often
Lesser RD with worse years got more are the TDL
The issue becomes finding a team where the Cap works with a dump or MTL RS
With PHI's JVR rebounding it seems there is only the RS to make it work

This leaves us in a place where trading just doesnt make sense at the TDL
Maybe this summer or later

I guess ill have to rethink a Petry landing spot that works cap wise without RS

They're an older team
Gotta figure they're looking add
Even if they dont clearing cap to bring in better pieces would be appealing
IF not its not hard to break up Lehkonen and Wideman to contenders
I just thought it would bolster them for a push while leaving option for adding more

If they don't manage to hold onto Hertl, they aren't going to have any chance of competing for at least another 3 years, by then most of the bad contracts will be wrapping up. Trading away 1sts for unneeded cap space only kills off the ability to rebuild.
It's a suicidal move for SJ.

Neither will be traded any time soon, probably at soonest in the summer. It sounds like Philly is frontrunners for Petry (funny enough I called them as my darkhorse like 3 weeks ago). As for suitors, considering a non playoff team is the frontrunner i would say its safe to bet the amount of "suitors" is not high, nor is the price teams are willing to pay. Could that change between now and the summer? Maybe, maybe not. If I could predict the future I would be in Vegas, not spending time here. All I can do is make statistical analysis'.

As for JVR, he's not even being shopped right now afaik, at least not nearly as much as Petry (who basically asked for a trade).

I am not saying thry are a 1 for 1, I was saying that a 1 for 1 is significantly closer than thinking Philly would consider moving their 1st for him
