why trade Vic who IS a good player, for two guys that *might hopefully* become good players. I would want more assurance than just hope. All my opinion though of course!

I guess my question would be what are you offering olofsson for a contract? This is his last rfa year, he went to arbitration. Are you paying him to be a 2nd line 20 goal scorer or a 35pt winger? And for how long? His sample size is small and on a bad team during short seasons and right now he's not having the best year. Also he was a 7th round pick so your "2nd rounder wont make the nhl" is kinda out of place here.
Meanwhile krazstov got the same 2 goals 4pts in his 1st year called up (2 years sooner in development than olofsson) and is 4 years younger.
Im not saying olofsson is bad, just that i dont think he fits the timeline and os most likely going to be an un exceptional nhler, vinny hinestroza, alex galchenyuck, and namestikov are all in similar boats. They look good at times but can they take the next step that makes it worth a roster spot that a veteran leader or developed prospect can use?
The best part of this deal is you get 2 shots at the same caliber player and dont have to worry about the ufa contract negotiation.
