Description
Nashville is shopping Forbserg. I don't know what their asking price is (picks, prospects or pieces for now?), but he will likely be a rental. Boston also needs a LD and Nashville was shopping Ekholm last season but ended signing him long term. Could this be the biggest trade of the TDL? I think that Boston doesn't give enough and it would ruin their future because they can't keep Forsberg with Ekholm's contract extension kicking in next season. It would fill two big needs for the Bruins but I'm not so sure for the Nashville side, I really have no idea what their plans are. Let me know what should Boston add to make this trade more realistic, I'm open to respectful discussions:)

Why? They would get back Reilly and could play him or Carrier on the 2nd pair. Plus, They are saving money (about 3,25 millions) per years that they can use to sign a forward. But as I said, I don't know what their plans are and I find it weird that they are shopping Forsberg when they're on the verge of making playoffs.

They also get back Vaak and Lysell, two pretty good prospects. Lysell is promising and Vaak has shown that he can step-in and play top 4 minutes right away.

They simply are not trading him. Anymore than Boston is going to trade Mac or Carlo after just signing them to extensions.

Lysell will not be moved for a rental.

Center still not addressed and you have left no way to address it.

What happens if Bergy and Forsberg both leave at years end? You now have 3 massive holes and no way to fix it other than a mediocre free agent class. They have 6m tied up in assets that will likely have to be bought out or buried limiting what they can do as well.

Preds trading Forsberg would be a shocker, he has been one of the faces of the franchise for the past 8 years . They are fighting to make it to the post season and this would send a bad message to the players and fans unless they make a true hockey trade and get another star player in return. Trading him for prospects and picks is throwing in the towel on the season.
Maybe he has indicated that he wants crazy money to re-sign but I would think he would be good @ ~ 8.5 - 9 million per with some term. Keep in mind Tennesee is a no tax state , big perk. I think this Forsberg trade rumor is smoke and mirrors. I would be interested on a take from a fan living in Nashville.

It’s simple, his contract expires and there is no sign of an extension. Move him or lose him for nothing.

in that case no one is blowing a load on a player who will test the market.

ya it hasn't been made official that forsberg is resigning or not but nashville did make it official that they were open to trading forsberg so from that alone im assuming he either wants to much money from them or he just simply wants a change in his career

I'm not convinced we are trading Forsberg, but I think Debrusk would be a good fit in Nashville under Hynes.

As others have said, Ekholm isn't moving. Just signed an extension.

If we do send Forsberg and take Debrusk, I think you are definitely in the ballpark with Lysell. Not sure if just Lysell and Debrusk would win the bidding war but it would be a good start.

if Boston did acquire Forsberg they would have to open the vault to re-sign him , then they have Bergeron to deal with and Pasta the following year not sure it is doable.

Why would Boston HAVE to resign him? They can just use him as a high quality rental.

they don't have to resign him but a high quality rental at a premium price is a waste of valuable assets. If he was the last piece to add maybe but the Bruins need a couple of slots filled over another LW.

Forsberg is listed as a LW but shoots right, so he could easily play on the right side with Marchand and Bergeron. Also, besides Forberg and Ekholm what would the Bruins need else to add? It looks like a cup contender roster in my eyes.

a true 2nd line center would be good don't you think? if I had to say the B's biggest needs are a 2LC and a top end LD
