First of all thank you for your comments.
I guess no one else wanted to add.

Bruins signed Reilly last year and they will likely keep him. If he's moved, it would not be for a rental 3rd liner and a rental AHLer. As you can see, I borrowed this trade and as I scanned several other Boston posts today, I saw several other Boston ACGM's with nearly identical trades. All the same I will not disagree with your comment, only explaining why I included it.

Moving Thompson back to wing makes absolutely no sense. Actually it does! With Cozens, Mittelstadt, Krebs and Girgensons Buffalo has four forwards who are centers. Other than Tuch (and maybe Quinn who has not proved himself to be an NHL RW YET) what right handed player does Buffalo have on the RW?
As to the trades:
Boston, Reilly would be the Sabres second best LHD.
I know Power is great and Samuelson has proven to be NHL material, but with 50% retained Reilly could return a second worse case a 3rd.
Getting a 3rd and 4th for two players that were UFA's is smart management.
Edmonton
Eakin and Dell are not worth nearly a third.
Buffalo would be doing well to get anything for them.
Koskinen is certainly not going to drive the Sabres to the playoffs, but his contract expires this year and he is serviceable.
Over all moving Dell and Eakin while adding Koskinen for a third makes a lot of sense.
Toronto
Many ACGM's seem to think Holl is a cap dump.
After watching him play I think not.
Getting a 4th and Holl for Pysyk (who the Sabre may try to resign) another UFA would again be smart business.
Vancouver
Well Okposo will probably retire Sabre, but this is a great return.
Dickinson, adds center depth to Buffalo (again allow Thompson to move to RW)
Hamonic, would be the Sabres best RHD an area that Buffalo needs good NHL players.
Pearson, has a resume nearly equal to Olofsson allow Olofsson to be traded or play RW.
Washington
Getting a second for Miller currently appears to be the maximum return.
So Buffalo adds a defensive RHD, solid mid pairing LHD, a journeyman GK, third and two fourths for players signed as UFA's.
I will repeat that is great management and great returns on investment.
Okposo will not be traded but that is a great deal. Especially considering just last year many thought it would take a first to move him off of the roster.
So to add a RHD, LW, center and a
second (all positions Buffalo needs) would be great.
Miller well that is the best we could do.
To say "A LOT of this doesn’t make senSe" is myopic and obtuse.
But maybe I am wrong, I guess I was wrong when I predicted Ristolainen would return more the Reinhart, Skinner needs better line mates and big players take longer to develop (Thompson).
