Tough break for the Islanders

Would love that, but I don't think there's enough money circulating between these teams.

In order for no-Russian teams in KHL to work, they mostly had to have been owned by a Russian Oligarchs. This happened with Jokerit too, as a majority of the team and it's arena was sold to oligarchs.

Some reports said that Jokerit had a net loss of $15-20 million per season. No one but extremely rich men could've sustained such losses on a yearly basis.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Jokerit now as it's still owned by Russians, but no-one in Finland has desire to play for anywhere near KHL anymore, and both the head coach and players have already started to move elsewhere.

This might have been the end of the whole organisation, which sucks because I've been their fan since I was a kid. Leaving Liiga in the first place was the worst mistake they could've done.

It would be fun but KHL is about to return into a strictly Russian league, and after recent sh*t that has happened there's just no way Liiga or SHL would want anything to do with them.

I'd like to see Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish league morph into a big Scandic league. It'd be dope, and no league per se would have a huge monetary privilege compared to others.

Imagine if the KHL, SHL and Liiga combined into a super league that rivaled the NHL

Unrealistic but would be pretty cool not gonna lie.

Then you could have NHL vs. KSLHL during the summer or something for bragging rights.

Lmao tried to quote this one with my previous post

Yeah but we made up for it by dumping him and getting a Russian Bear back

So job well done by Dubas is all I can say as no more headaches for dead money rn.

And people said we would only get Future Considerations back...

Tuch easily over Kerfoot. No idea for Robertson vs. Krebs rn as Robertson has been hurt for most of this year and Krebs has been on and off.

Im just gonna saw draw between Robertson and Krebs. As I believe Robertson if he played 20 NHL games would probs have the same totals maybe more as Krebs. But sadly broke his leg and just played his first NHL game on Saturday lul. Only big advantage is Robbie is a year younger.

Just saw that ACGM lol. Tuch and Krebs IMO, not much of a debate with either. Robertson has been injured a lot, but I'm not one for playing the "what if" game.

A few random thoughts from Sunday's games:

1. Chara out, NYI win via SO. Go figure, lol.
2. Ducks are not making the playoffs. Dallas is.
3. Demko is a top 5 Goalie, imo. The fact that he plays behind a mediocre team hurts his numbers.
4. NYR really are a below average team w/o Igor - my pick for the Hart if the season ended today. Price set the bar in 2015.
5. EDM goaltending was excellent this weekend against 2 great teams...an aberration.
6. Kyle Connor is still underrated, imo. Imagine where WPG would be w/o him.
7. Obviously, STL won the Ryan O'Reilly trade with BUF when they won the Cup in 2019. Great to see Tage Thompson enjoy a monster breakout season. He's on pace for 36G!!!

I still maintain my position that Bergevin is a good GM and a bad person, but he’s hardly the guy who made the decision on which prospect they draft in the 5th round. Joshua Roy continues to look like an absolute steal after all of the work he put in over the summer.

Believe it was Martin Lapoine who is now thankfully our Director of Amateur Scouting

If you read my comments further down the thread (instead of just the first one), I said he's a guy you need to win cups because he's a very good depth piece. It's not a good contract to have when you're looking to rebuild. Completely different mindset based on hindsight.

Who would have though trading for Jack Eichel would hurt more so than help the Knights lul...

What's even their record since he came off LTIR lul.

That game-winning one-timer by MacKinnon was an unreal shot. Absolutely perfect.

Eichels been great, team is 1-3 with him but he's not even close to 100% game speed yet. He will get there soon though.

For now, I'd lean CBJ due to receiving Roslovic as well as Laine.

But like a_habs_fan said, it depends on if they stay with their teams for long

With the deadline coming up i had a striking thought hit me. Has there ever really been a truly FAIR trade, where both teams walked away better than they began?

Well it would be technically impossible for both teams to improve immediately following a trade unless the players played better on their new teams. But, players could play better on their new teams.

Coleman trade ( was an overpayment and still is but Tampa got 2 cups ) and NJ got a 1st/Nolan Foote to improve their future, technically both teams walked away better than they began, not a truly fair trade but it's pretty much impossible for a truly fair trade that makes both teams better than they began since it's fair
