That being said, seeing the list of assets Leafs don't want to move, they don't really have anything to offer here.


If this were to say happen, with Cloud not being a rental and having a stupid good deal dont see why Dubas wouldnt move any of the prospects Friedman mentioned were untouchable (for rentals) along with the 1st pick. The main point of his 32 thoughts was to get it out there Dubas was not gonna trade an A level prospect or a 1st for a rental. So no Foligno repeats. But a 6 year 2.75 mill Whitecloud would open the cupboards easily and Vegas would probs walk away with Niemala and maybe Hirovinen or Abruzzese along with our 2022 or 2023 1st.

All of the Yotes untouchables makes sense, they either have term or are RFA’s, you still need a base to build the team around ( No Chychrun though )

According to Friedman, Dubas has made it clear he is NOT open to trading the leafs 1st, Knies, Niemela, Robertson, and Abruzzese and some others.


So this basically means we’re gone trade for absolute sh*t

Here is what EF said: Toronto made it clear they want to hold onto Neimela and Knies. Robertson for a rental seems unlikely. I suspect Abruzzezze is in that group as well after the olympics. Toronto doesn’t have a lot of picks, but they feel good about their prospects.

Maybe I’m missing something. Is there another clip of him saying something?

If we had Islanders Lou he would have made the Miller + McDonagh trade in a heartbeat and it would have not costed us anything of huge significance except the first round pick lul.

But as of now despite being perfect hes to expensive to be worth it rn.


Do you know what TML were willing to give up for the pair? You say it would have been cheap.However, TB gave up Namestikov who was playing with Kuch and Stammer and looked great (although from my perspective it was obvious that it was his line mates increasing his production). They also gave up a 1st, Howden and Hajek who were 1st and second round picks respectively. I wouldn’t consider that cheap, more mismanagement of the prospects or them just not panning out. If howden was playing in the top 6 and Hajek was a top 4 dman we’d have a different perspective on this trade.
