I'd make that trade in a heartbeat. There is no guarantee Schueneman even resigns with the Habs and is will be 27 by the time next season starts. he won't be here when the rebuild is over. Schultz is NHL ready dman right now and I don't care if we have 18 3rd rounders already, each pick is a chance at the next Brayden Point.

Schueneman has been a pleasant surprise but lets be honest he wouldn't have even made the NHL this year if it weren't for the insane circumstances the Habs d-core had this year. That 3rd rounder is more important to the habs rebuild than Schueneman will ever be more than likely. Lets not forget Schultz isn't anything to sneeze at either. He'll help the Habs for the rest of the year.

Big RHD prospect with good defense and skating is exactly what MTL need. So he fits the profile.

He is a long term 19 y.o. project though. By that I mean that if he gets to the NHL, it won't be for another 3-4 years. We need someone before Mailloux is ready, less after.

Fucale doesn't get a 3rd, more like a 6th.
Hagelin + 3rd for future considerations is more fair.
Kempny costs a 3rd + 5th to dump.
Switch the 1st to a 2nd in the mantha trade.
