TED TALK - Biggest needs for the next 2 years

Explications
Disregard contracts and lines, they are very approximative!

POSITIONS IN ORDER OF PRIORITY, FROM THE BIGGEST NEEDS:

1 - G : Need a No1 and even a No2. Im 100% sure Price will be out because of injuries by then.

2 - C : IF the draft is lucky, IF Evans stays healthy AND IF Poehling improves enough, it would be ok. That’s a lot of IFs.

3 - RHD : 5 LHD can play on the right side, but only 33 y.o. Savard would be a natural until Mailloux is ready (Petry will be traded, right?!). A lot of puck movers already, a stay at home Dman would fit well.

4 - LW: Top 6 light, but a lot of depth even if Hoffman is traded away.

5 - RW : Relatively deep, but no high quality prospect in the pipeline.

6 - LHD : All set assuming Harris signs with the team which I'm confident.

This shows why trades offering LHD prospects or RW NHL level players cant be taken seriously.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Frankly, I'll be surprised if Jordan Harris signs with Montreal. He can sign with any of the 32 teams in the NHL on August 16, so I see him deciding for himself where to play. (Of course, he can't decide for how much.)

3 reasons why he will sign in Montreal :

1. Burn a year of his entry level contract by playing in the 2021-2022 season.
2. Good professionnal and personnal relationship with the GM.
3. Open roster allowing him to get quality minutes.

By the way, I don't want you to get the wrong impression -- I found the rest of your analysis very informed, rational and persuasive.

I should have said that earlier.

All those 'Send anything to NYR for Kravtsov' makes so little sense.

Thanks!

Don't worry, I've known for a long time you are one of the balanced and fair ones.

Any constructive feedback is always appreciated if you got any...

Except Samsonov might not be a No1, Lundqvist isn't a defensive stud and Oreilly/Huberdeau probably won't hit the UFA market.
