So you would value him highly enough to take the deal? Great.

The only person taking this deal is Yzerman laughing maniacally while doing it super fast before what ever drugs dubas is on wear off because it is comically brutal for the leafs

Muzzin's obviously better, but I'd rather take half a year of DeKeyser than 2 and a half years of Muzzin.

And that is exactly the point of the deal. It clears salary for Toronto *this* summer.

And that is why Wings do not make this trade. YZERMAN has preached flexibility and this goes directly against that.

So anyone signed to a deal longer than one year has an 'inflexible contract'?

You do realize you are losing 20 mil plus off of your 70 mil payroll at year's end right? There is such a thing called the league minimum.

Muzzin makes more then DeKeyser and has one more year then DeKeyser and yet we're the ones eating $1,000,000 and giving up a 3rd round pick for Slew Foot Muzzin and a bunch of nothing i don't think so.

Muzzin is more serviceable than either DeKeyser or Leddy both of whom you are losing from the left side at the end of the year. And the bunch of nothing you refer to ain't. They are not top end guys but you are already getting the better player here.

He's already 33 and signed for 2 more seasons. The heavier style of his game is likely going to start taking its toll sooner rather than later, if it isn't already. I doubt he'll be worth his contract before the final season.
I'd rather see Detroit keep the pick, sign cheap depth from free agency, and have roster spots available for prospects like Edvinsson, Johansson, McIssac, etc.

1st why not worry about the Toronto cap situation, there seems to be enough there to keep you busy.

2nd Wings will have roughly 33 million in cap next year and 7 spots to make a 20 man roster and 10 to make a 23 man roster. Like last year Yzerman will use that money wisely and not give up assets to do so, rather he will use the cap and roster spots to fill in the roster and make this better as he has since he was named GM.

Leddy was a chance and he payed a 2nd for it and lost. Leddy has not played well and doubt truly he is back next year. That being said Yzerman has made good trades, has had good drafts and is building this team it appears to be much better in the next 2 to 3 years.

I beleive that Yzerman is treading water until he has what he thinks is the right base to then acquire the players that push him over the top. As far as cap, we will take cap on, but we are definitely not paying to do so.

Wrong direction man. Salary Cap *Minimum*, not Maximum. The NHL has one and you will be short of it come the off-season. No0 matter Muzzinb will go on LTIR for the remainder of the year. That solves our problem.
