How would you feel with a trade between Dickinson and Kapanen. Both players have fallen out with their respective teams and I sort of see this as a win win for both sides. Pens get a defensive forward with term and Canucks get a speedy Boudreau type player
I think the Pens can do better. Kappy >Dickinson. Even when playing poorly. Let him get hot for a month and he’s a 20 goal scorer again. He’s still .75PPG last season and .5PPG this season. And plays well on the PK. Kappy floor and ceiling are higher.
Pettersson is a stay at home 2nd pairing D-man. Long stick, long reach, moves the puck well and contributes enough offensively. Just b/c fans on here like flashy D-man and clamber for D-men like Ghoustisbhere, A.D’Angello, V.Mete, J.Benn. No GM in the NHL does.
Pettersson is a highly responsible D-men, 25 years old, plays on a winning/play-off team, with play-off experience, and signed long term. Literally everything NHL GMs do want and look for. And with the way D-men are being paid, that contract is looking better every day.
I once did a straight-up trade for Petterson to Dallas Stars(I forget who for; nothing special). Their fans were up in arms cause of his contract.
A week later I did the same trade retaining 750K from M.Petterson and making his contract 3.25M per. Their fans loved it. Lol. And 750k is nothing for NHL teams in term of cap.
It’s the $4.00 vs $3.99 thing. People see that 4 only. With some numbers after it. And its really only 4M per. The 25k is nothing.
Poolman and Hamoric don’t equal Pettersson, IMO. Hamoric is injury prone and won’t move from the West coast either. Hamoric with 50% retention at 1.5M is good, I guess. But still your paying 1.5M for how many games..?? Maybe half a season at best. I wouldn’t want him.
Plus Pens are adding a prospect in Hallander. Plus Pens are losing cap space. Doesn’t make sense in any way to me.
