Agree that Ritchie is a 2nd round dump sweetener. Now do the Leafs want to pay a 2nd for Schenn? Not sure. But a good thought on the trade.

I like the overall idea, but it's a slight overpay. What if it was a 2nd and a 4th instead?

I could see a world where he plays in place of Travis Dermott as a 5-6 situation, where Holl has been traded and Liljegren has taken over that spot beside Muzzin, but Luke Scheen is far too slow to keep up with the systems this Leafs team has in place. You can see these same systems hurt the way Muzzin and Holl play because they just cannot get back half the time to defend a counter-attack when the puck is turned over quickly.

Partially right. Muzzin has the puck skills to survive still but they seem to be falling off a little. Which means Holl has to do more which hurts him because he's not capable of carrying his pair. I think finding someone to take on more puck handling on the 2nd pair would really help muzzin. Holl has good speed for a big man but he's limited in his puck handling abilities. Certainly better than Schenn though. Schenn is not a 5-6 defenceman, he's a 7/8

Schenn stands in front of the net because he never has the puck. If he played any minutes in TO, everyone would be yelling that the play dies all the time on Schenn's stick

I have watched Schenn his entire career. He has no puck skills. He's just not a good defenceman. Slow, and very little puck skills. He just hits a lot and stays in front. I watched him give up major shots against vs the Leafs the other day. A good defenceman, who is good in their zone, don't get caved in all game.

Holl gets zero respect, too many dummies who don't know how hockey works love to crap on him. If you are a fan of schenn then you must hate how Keefe runs his system. Probably miss the days of Babs getting the team to just fly up and down the ice. Run around for a while, and throw it to centre.
